Ah.. Yeah, I hate those "waiting to see" periods too.. I only have so much patience when I'm not feeling well. And I'm actually the opposite with talk therapy. I'm great at talking about my problems but often it makes it seem like they're not that bad. I've become so good at hiding my moods, that I ...

It all seems to change depending on my meds. I was on the pill for years and never had PMS, then as soon as I started taking concerta for ADD it all went haywire. Every month is different and I've tried a bunch of different bc pills to mitigate this. The one I'm on now (tri-cyclen) is the best compr...

I don't know what meds you're taking for ADD, but I have been taking concerta for about 3 yrs and zoloft right now for depression. I have chronic depression, so I've had a fair bit of experience with anti-depressants. Note that not all anti-depressants are SSRIs. Those mainly work on serotonin recep...

Additude Magazine is another good resource. The articles & forums helped me a lot when I was first diagnosed. Another thing I was thinking about was the concept of "Theory of Mind" - that seems to be a bigger issue with autism and less so with ADD/ADHD. But I'm no expert.. I'm sure it can exist...

Hi, welcome! I'm new too, and am not likely to get an official dx anytime soon - but more because of financial reasons than anything. I'd be interested in knowing more about your findings on the hormonal aspect of AS. As a female, I have my suspicions about that, as well. My symptoms seem to fluctua...

I have an ADD diagnosis - however superficial - it consisted of a couple of screening quizzes and a prescription for Concerta. (Essentially slow-release ritalin) So I can tell you a little bit about it - because to some degree, I found it fits me. However, when I got the dx 3 years ago, I already ha...

Thanks for the welcomes! :)

Unfortunately, it looks like my benefits won't cover much of an assessment. Way too expensive. Oh well..

Hi I just wanted to say how helpful this thread has been to me. It was the question on my mind when I signed up today and there are so many great answers here. I'm not broken and don't need to be fixed. I'm just wired differently from most. I totally feel this way too! A lot of aspie traits seem so ...

Thanks Fnord & Willard. Yeah it's kind of funny because I know I'm different. But I guess I got very good at fooling others - even myself at times. Then again, I don't let a lot of ppl get close enough to see the cracks. Maybe that's why.. Actually I just found another thread and it's immensely ...

Hi I just signed up here. I had an epiphany a while back that I have Asperger's. (actually I think it's been percolating for a few years now..) I was derailed by an ADD diagnosis a couple of years ago and - though it also fits in some way - I've never been as certain about it as I have with Asperger...
