I've been living in a new part of the US (new to me) for a couple of years now and haven't found friends. I was starting to make some efforts again, and then got sent halfway across country for work. So I've been here five weeks now and I'm composing this in hotel room I've been living in :( .

Hi, guy. Thanks for the reading list. I'm currently looking for a job, and to broaden my network I joined a discussion group on LinkedIn called the Emotional Intelligence group. I intend to improve my skills in interview and work/life/romance situations in general, and I will definitely take on some...

Great questions, Keyman. My post was intended to be a summary of my recent experience. If I elaborated on every point I probably would have been on-station until dawn. I would be happy to discuss the details if it would help you, and anyone else in here. I'll try to be concise (not my strongest suit...

Just curious - if they are quizzing you about your AS, are you giving them a reason to do so? I hope you're not volunteering that info. Hey, I hear you. I am also between jobs and searching hard. I'm either on the phone or on the road four days a week. I'm trying to pull off a career shift (not a co...

Hi, dream_princess. Glad you made it in here. I hung around for a while before speaking up, partly 'cause it took time to figure out how the site works. Your description of yourself reminds me of my own younger years. I was a pretty strange kid, and everyone knew it. But it was the Fab Fifties, and ...

Greetings, McCat. I lived in the Hague in the early '70s for about a year, still have extended family there and in Belgium. I've been wanting to get back ever since, but haven't managed it. I also did some bike touring around Amersfoort and east. As you say, lovely. I was so impressed by how the tra...

Hi, vickypollard. I lived in the Hague for about a year back in the 70's and would love to go back. I just discovered this site a few days ago, registered and know very little about how the site works. Since I just walked in, it may not be appropriate for me to be welcoming newbies :hmph: No formal ...
