Dude, don't compare your first chapter to someone else's ninth chapter: meaning, everybody makes different milestones in life at different rates, otherwise comparing yourself to other people just makes you more miserable. I'm in a similar situation: I was pissed off at "the System" for for...

Partly, yes, you're always going to have Asperger's as an integral component of your identity and personality. I see an autism support specialist who says I have "remarkably good emotional-social cognition", but that doesn't mean I don't feel eccentric and quirky compared with neurotypical...

Even so, don't you find the community college demographic to be somewhat toxic to your academic goals and aspirations? I.e., the slackers from high school who are stuck there for a few semesters because they couldn't get accepted into the state university straight out of high school, the middle-aged...

In addition to the disappointing lack of social activities on-campus, there is an autism spectrum support group that meets every two weeks on Thursdays, however, based on a picture of the group (http://www.jccc.edu/photo_stories/2012/0220-autism-support-club.html), though I don't want to make any pr...

Right, and with that in mind that community college isn't structured rigorously for socializing in the same way as high school or a university, how do I try to make my current situation at least bearable?

I'm in my second year of community college, and I'm just finding it even more depressing than high school. At least in high school, odds were that you'd run into a few good acquaintances or friends every day walking through the hallways, however, in community college, there are thousands of students...

Hey, so I've always been curious to know my IQ. I was administered the Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence and my Performance IQ was 79, Verbal IQ was 118, with Full-Scale IQ being 98, my nervousness and anxiety may have exacerbated the test results, plus it was with a psychologist that I had...

John McCain got fourth place in the 2008 Iowa caucuses, trailing distantly between the top-tier candidates, so it's kinda fuzzy on whether or not Iowa is a great indicator of electability. The fact that Ron Paul still got third even under the re-released newsletter scrutiny bolsters his fervent supp...

I'm not in any extra-curricular activities right now, but I feel crappy for being able to get on honor roll my first semester of senior year with two AP courses, Physics and Algebra II with an unimaginable amount of stress as well as being a leader in NJROTC and Student Council, while f*****g up my ...

I figured that Public Speaking, Intro to Writing, Algebra and German were basic general education courses to fill transfer requirements and therefore easy. I wouldn't want to take only two courses because I want to prove to selective universities that I can handle a tough course load, especially if ...

So I'm going to community college and both parents are footing the bill as well as myself. Under a senior year course load of AP European History, AP Government, Physics and Algebra II, and after challenging and fighting tooth-and-nail my special ed IEP case manager, my mom and the principal to get ...

No, not exactly. But come to think of it, those who score as INTJ, INTP or ISTP on the Myers-Briggs are on the high end of the intelligence bell curve, and people with Asperger's tend to score into those categories so there might be a correlation. Of course those are illogical generalizations: most ...

I think I have it milder than everybody else, most of you are scoring higher than 150.

Your Aspie score: 130 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 75 of 200
You are very likely an Aspie

It seems to me that he arrogantly demeans both autistics that are of lower-functioning then himself, which despite what his ego says, he's probably on the lower-side of the bell curve when it comes to his autistic functionality, while also insulting aspies that for "stealing the limelight" from him....
