I did jury duty. It's awesome. You're not going to be "bad" at it. When I got done with mine, I realized how it really works. The whole ideal is that every human being involved surrender themselves into pure rational agents with a clear function. It's sweet.

I don't think aaron's going to alienate anyone! It is only sometimes difficult to parse writing like that. Aaron, I don't know how old you are (perhaps I shouldn't be dispensing advice to you) but you might want to read some George Orwell essays, for a laser-like linguistic contrast to your exuberan...

I had three stories running throughout my adolescence. Sometimes they crop up again, to fill space if I'm very bored. I would take characters from movies I'd seen, and comics I'd liked (one of the stories was My X-men) and then use my own plots etc. They were very violent and repetetive. I always as...

I was reading about the asp. "disorder" of hyperlexia. I just discovered I have asp. but I also just wrote a novel using hyperlexic logic! And...it's sort of about having asp., in its own way, too. For instancing a warry-time taking jabbers a want-withing over a trilltapesty's tread-tanklike center-...

Taboo-violating is very close to the heart of comedy. The writing-style for Stephen Colbert is very like this...running with a very strange persona, with its own logic, the writers themselves might not always understand. Things are funny for different satiric/not reasons. I've always followed what's...

Even if you are Christian you should recognize Christian "philosophy" about sexuality, more or less, is commonly discarded by many decent Christians. That being said, the whole idea elder/christian idea is to keep your teen-mind away from sexuality. Noble? Maybe, but fat chance. Everyone should mast...

Weird to read this right off the bat in this forum... I found when I was doing big DXM trips 1-2 week it had a medicating effect after a while, like an antidepressent. The only problem is EVERYTHING FLASHES FOREVER NOW. That's for ever, until I'm 98, assuming my liver problems, which DXM may have co...

Bertrand Russel said of Swift, that only rare men have the strength to emotionally bear despising everyone, for the sake of saying something true.

One thing I do is take my own opinions, surfacing in my mind, and externalize them in ways that are already absurd. Like I am ridiculing the idea of being a human being with certain prejudices or inclinations. It is complicated, though. I notice while it is frequently funny, I believe the image of m...

I almost never lie and feel inordinately, intuitively that it is preposterous/I'd be detected, or it is somehow wrong. I certainly detect enough lies in others though. My intuition's pretty sharp that way, perhaps I'm not that kind of sufferer. I always feel like I *perceive* others almost like othe...

Some asp. men say they dislike other men's machismo-protocols, but depending on who they are and where you are, obviously men can be wildly varying. Mainstream (I'm from the US) men can perceive an asp. person as "faggy," because their concept of "gayness" means lacking robust, normative sexual vita...
