So, I've been working on a new website to replace AspieAffection, because it's pretty outdated, and I wanted somewhere for people who wanted to make friends as well as date. The result is Aspies.me . It's a site for Aspies who want to make friends or look for love. Just like AspieAffection it's base...

Look for those marketed for Epilepsy, as that seems to be the bigger market, a few Epilepsy charities have lists of suppliers on their websites.

Had one in an emergency once, but was unconscious at the time, so not very helpful! As I understand it, non-emergency ones are under local anaesthesia, so shouldn't be too bad! All I would warn you of is that I had a really bad headache afterwards, that got much worse when I sat up, but after a day ...

Hi everyone, I don't visit very often, but I've been working on an idea for a website, which is NOT designed to replace WP, but whereas WP is all about discussing issues, it will be simply about identifying and chatting to new people, however you want to. Similarly to Aspie Affection, it is based on...

I'm a 21yo male student in the UK, interested in talking to anyone who would like to be friends. I'm interested in finding someone who understands life as an Aspie, I've been formally diagnosed since my last visit here! I won't bore you with lots of detail, but I'd be really happy to hear from and c...

I'm a 21yo male student in the UK, interested in meeting girls reasonably close to my own age. I'm quite tall and interested in finding someone who understands life as an Aspie, I've been formally diagnosed since my last visit here! I won't bore you with lots of detail, but I'd be really happy to he...

Is there a reason why society does not want too accomodate us?
It's not necessarily that it doesn't want to, it could be that it doesn't know how or just isn't very good at it!

Look at the social model of disability.

Very simply; It's not the Aspergers that disables you, but society and other people not being able to treat you equally and accommodate you.

Easy enough?

As part of an awareness project, I'm trying to find some ways to allow NTs to experience some of the effects of ASDs. So far, I've found this video on YouTube, which is quite good at showing the extremities of meltdowns; Does anyone eithe...

It was announced yesterday that there will be a stage play adaptation of the book in London's National Theatre later this year!

I quite like the book myself, I can see why people might not like the automatic association with AS, but it's not an overly negative portrayal.

One more thought; how about something creative, maybe artistic or in writing? I'm thinking a nice poem... It will give you something to do that clearly has a point to it, and perhaps you might want to use it to try and express how you're feeling, which would help you understand it yourself a little ...

Well, when you say you can't distract yourself, have you tried watching some sort of comedy, something silly, on TV or online? I find that quite good, because I don't have to concentrate, but I still get to have something that I sometimes just can't help laughing at, which usually makes me feel a bi...

Sometimes I feel like that, but usually, something had to happen to trigger it off.
Has anything happened to make you feel like that, or is it something that has been building up?

It's strange, I've never actually thought about it, but I can identify with everything you're saying there. I guess the 'nice' bit is that you say it's a 'big' birthday for you at the moment, so I guess that you can't be many birthdays away from completely choosing what you want to do and who you wa...
