People who insist on telling me about things they know I don't care about and have no reason to care about. I am a night manager in a small grocery store and I totally relate to this. Complete strangers seem to want to offer me explanations for things that I don't care about and quite frankly are n...

My 13 year old daughter has huge bathroom issues also. She refuses to use public bathrooms so of course she is holding it in all day especially when she is at school. Her teachers have even offered to let her use a teachers bathroom to offer her more privacy but she still won't go. So of course, by ...

From the time she was a baby starting on solid foods my daughter went through food obsessed stages. At one point for weeks on end all she would eat was applesauce. She still goes through stages now and she's almost 13. All I can suggest that is this too will pass eventually. As my daughters therapis...

My 12-year old Aspie daughter has a very active imagination and she spends countless hours on Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh related things. Movies, writing stories, and discussing it with anyone who will listen. Even her therapist has tried to get her to stop talking Pokemon but she keeps going back to it ti...

on another note, if you are concerned about her vulnerability~have you considered enrolling her in self-defense classes ? she might enjoy the exercise, and you might feel better knowing that she would know how to protect herself... Wow, that's a great idea - I will look into it! :) There is a websi...

This boy is obviously a fairweather friend to your son. Since you've known him for some time and he's spent time in your home have you considered talking to his parents about what happened? Then again, you can always help your son find other friends...at my daughters school, they are putting togethe...

I find the whole idea extreme also; whether or not pregnancy results the fallout from a sexual assault would be inevitable. But if something were to happen away from home would my daughter know to tell me or would she be embarassed or frightened? There has to be a way of probing the subject without ...

It was suggested that we put my daughter on a schedule and it was just horribly difficult to stick to. The meltdowns made it impossible!

I am more of a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants parent; I try not to be too rigid because it just doesn't work with my daughter.

I agree maybe you need to have the birds and the bees discussion. I also think maybe you should have more faith in your daughter. People with AS are NOT ret*d. I never said they were ret*d; and I could have done without the harshness, thank you very much. :? To the others, yes we have spoken to her...
