I enjoyed the show a great deal, but my feelings are mixed. On the one hand, it is the most diverse depiction of autism I've ever seen on screen. Each of the persons featured is unique, interesting and charming. I felt it very easy to identify with them. On the other hand, it is still a reality TV s...

Hi everyone, Two of my favorite characters in recent memory are Anya from Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Peridot from Steven Universe. I say recent memory because I did not watch Buffy until five years ago. Anyway, in both cases, I latched onto these characters immediately. I WILL DEFEND WITH MY LIFE...

I know this is an old post, but I wanted to stop in to say I love Peridot! But I have to admit, I love her more when she is grumpy, before she cheers up. I just love her grumpiness, I love her refusal to let anyone help her, her stubbornness. That she calls everyone 'clods!' That is why I picked her...

I find there is a pretty big difference between how I talk and how I type and... how I think! :) I don't always think in words or sentences, but when I type, I do. I think of the words and type them, usually all at once, though sometimes I take a moment to think before typing. And, of course, I some...

Can you tell me what Executive Dysfunction is for you? I'm just now hearing about this term. When I think about my own Executive Functioning, I think there is a part of me that just really is resistant to doing it at all. Like, I look at these suggestions for managing Executive Function, and it's li...

I actually kind of like the masks because I have a lot of social anxiety, so when I'm wearing one in my building (I work at a health center), I like that I can hide behind it a little bit. We wear paper masks, and have been doing so since late May (worked at home before that), and in that time I hav...

please note: I was never all that interested in the facts about trains, but I love the look and the feel. Best things about Trains: The tracks something about how they follow a track is so satisfying. The way the cars couple together similar to the tracks, the modular nature of the train is very sat...

I think the question is, how do you know if you are just anxious for normal reasons, versus how do you know if your anxiety is related to an anxiety disorder or something like ASD. I think there are clues. It is probably an anxiety disorder or ASD related if: 1. Nothing upsetting happened lately; i...

maybe it's just paranoia, but I sometimes get locked into a loop where I think maybe I heard a cue or subtext or something, but I'm not sure, and I try to understand and think about it, and then I space out a little, but they keep talking, so I have to let it go and hope it will be fine (and it usu...

Oh, and another one I remember was language! I had a great vocabulary, and my peers didn't like that. I got hassled for it constantly. Of course I decided it was because they were all idiots. My parents seemed to like that I had a good vocabulary and would engage with me.

A sullen, aloof, proud, entitled, narcissistic, disdainful, dismissive, ignorant, indolent, self-indulgent, emotionally incontinent bastard. ^^^^Couldn't have said it better myself :) I rejected many popular social conventions, and would loudly and often tell everyone how dumb they were. Most espec...

Hi, I'm not exactly new here, as I have lurked on and off for many years. I don't think I ever made an introduction post though. I am 38, and I am undiagnosed, though I have at times thought I might be on the spectrum or in some other way not NT. I think mostly, I am looking for comfort and sometime...
