Cool... What kind of lawyer are you? I used to think that aspies tended to shy away from jobs which required tremendous sepaking ability. I am currently in a bout of depression at the moment, as I enrolled to get a diploma in Mass Communications, which I now percieve to be a mistake considering how ...

Thanks for all your support in that other topic. I'm feeling better, although still sad, but it will put my mind to rest if I could know whether the choice I made was the right one. Originally I had wanted to do a course in the arts, especially digital arts, but I was dissuaded into doing so by my p...

I enrolled in a course in mass communications. I did it under my parent's advice, "because I write well." But my social skills are poor and this course has a lot of public speaking, and the people there all form cliques and play class politics. I always wanted to enroll in an arts course and be an a...

And now for something I found on another AS board: http://www.aspiesforfreedom.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1301 It seems like in Japan, there is a general lack of information on autism...but more interesting is that it has brought up the topic on cultural differences and AS. But take note of these tw...

Wowbagger. I must say that I am very happy to be able to find another Singaporean on this forum. For a long while I thought I was the only one here. Yes, I agree that Singaporean mentality is that parents tend to treat their children as an extension of themselves. How is it like in Chicago? Care to ...

Hmm..I wonder about Switzerland. Wasn't there a statistic a while back, showing that there were a significant portion of Swiss who could be labeled with any of the autism spectrum disorders? I wonder why you say that a person with AS will suffer more under the Swiss. It seems like Switzerland favour...

First off I need to say that I am a Chinese living in Singapore. I also believe that all cultures are equally valid and I do not mean to criticise any aspect of any culture. However, what I want to talk about is that this does not mean all personality types will thrive equally well in all cultures, ...

A principle which runs my life is that we should not care about "how" things are being said, but to try and extract "what" is being said. I would like to point out while Ghosthunters format may be unconventional, his writings are not without content. Which would you prefer? An eloquent and formatica...

I don't think its the nature of the disorder or its prevalence that has changed. I think its because society has now gotten more fast paced and that what is considered socially acceptable has become a lot more stringent. Anybody who is not trendy and gregarious is considered outside the norm. As a r...

I heard alot of aspies are good runners, but unfortunately I am not. If I try hard, the most I can do is 2.4km in 14 minutes, which is rather bad according to school standards. Anyway, I'm thinking of starting an excercis routine to cut down to 2.4km in 12 minutes. How should I go about doing it? Li...
