IMO, people with ASD are no more the next step in evolution than homosexual people are the next step in evolution. Why is that ? Because both groups have less likelyhood of having children. Both are just variations in humanity, and both have likely been around for a long time. If ASD were supposed t...

I'm sensitive to cold. I feel too cold a lot, even when the temperature is actually high.
If I get cold, my whole body sometimes shakes like a I'm having a seizure and I have to clench every muscle to control it. It hasn't happened in a while now though.

I'm going to the psychiatrist to be tested in a couple of weeks, and was asked previously if I wanted to get anti-depressant drugs. After reading about side-effects and stories, I've gotten a bit wary, so I'd like to get an idea of peoples experience with them. I tried Zoloft for a month a couple of...

I think it's probably best to aim for just being friends, and then the relationship will move on from there if there is a basis for it to do so. It obviously helps to be able to make new friends, which makes it extra challenging for some of us :)

I've been drinking a probiotic fruit-drink called ProViva a while. It contains a bactria called Lactobacillus plantarum 299v which is supposed to help against clostridium. I think it has had some effect in reducing gas-problems and constipation. Haven't noticed any effects on social symptoms though....

I will try it. There's a yoga-center just down the street from me which starts beginner lessons next week. They practice 'Tantra Hatha Yoga', which seems to be a mix of meditation and stretching. Should be interesting.

I'm likely going to get some medicines against anxiety/tension soon. I wondered if I could do yoga instead. Anyone know if it's possible to get the same effect from that as from medicines ?

I've just found out about AS myself at an age of 37, and my symptoms haven't changed much the last 20 years I think. A couple of years ago, I started doing some irrational rituals like having to check the stove several times before leaving the house, but got over that by myself. At the moment, the s...

I don't believe in the God theory. Even if there is a God which created the universe, I doubt it could be bothered to micro-manage the life of every being in the entire universe (unless it has AS and the universe is it's special interest :)).

I'm 37, and haven't had any friends in the last 10 years. People in general don't interest me much, and I'm just too boring and self centered for others to be interested in me, it seems. I'd rather have a dog anyway :)

I can relate. I've recently found out I've probably got AS. I don't really have any obsessive interests, and don't care much about anything. At the moment I'm just existing, and my life feels rather pointless and boring. I've realized there's a good chance I'll won't be able to have a meaningful rel...

It's the Norwegian version of Paul. I'm living in Sweden now though because of work.

Hi, I'm 37 years old and have recently been to a psychiatrist who told me I probably have Aspergers. I'm going to take a test with the psychiatrist later and get a proper diagnosis. I just did this test http://www.msnbc.com/modules/newsweek/autism_quotient/default.asp, and got a score of 35. I've al...
