I know I feel better if I can get out of the house early, a walk or a drive esp. if I have somewhere interesting/fun/meaningful to go to. (Some of this may possibly be gender related, the male going out hunting. Maybe) Specifically, it sure looks as though early morning sunlight seems to help me fe... |

Raza, Your description was so incredibly helpful to me. Thank you! It's so important to me to understand what she might be going through and why she shuts down. Although I do understand that Autism can present in different ways and with different struggles in everyone, your description of why you r... |

Sounds like you're doing a good job. You got onto this early and can make a real difference now. =) I'm HFA myself, and even at age 25 I can relate to your child. Periods of rushed learning and periods of near-non-development have alternated in my own life, and comfort and response in social situati... |

It's not about how 'deep' it runs. It's about the fact that you didn't specify. Oh, it is. There was only one human category present in that statement, so it should've been clear which one I was referring to to anyone who'd recognized it as such. It is an essential quality of modes of discriminatio... |

Oh, of course it is. Sex and drugs are just the cliché, two approaches so classic that people've started to equate them to hedonism period. They're classics for some damn good reasons, though. I wouldn't advice neglecting other pleasures on account of them, but if you avoid them just to prove a poin... |

I have. As a 15 year old socially hopeless aspie geek I decided that a pleasurable experience was the only thing that made sense to elevate as life's final value* and went for it, starting out by reading a lot of internet articles. =P I was incredibly awkward about it at first, but it's been pretty ... |

...Really? I guess that demonstrates how deeply this runs.
You shouldn't have to be an adult to have unashamed sex. |

Having sex will demystify a lot of things about it, and generally relax your mind on the subject in major ways. It's not a 'lose your virginity and bang, anxiety gone' kind of thing, though. The therapeutic effects add up gradually until you've grown comfortable doing everything you want to and you'... |

I like the message, but defining sex as "a consensual act between adults" has discriminatory implications all of its own.
Sex is for everybody who wants to have it. No categorization. |

An enjoyable experience is the important thing in life. Sex is fun, but does not exclusively equate to it. No single thing does. |

I prefer not to be reduced to a one-dimensional character. And aim to achieve this by leaving aspects of yourself out of your presentation? S'not an either-or thing, y'know. Being openly sexual doesn't somehow corrode everything else you are. I never said I left out aspects of myself. I have no sha... |

Alternative lifestyles aren't becoming more accepted; not in a general sense. Specific alternative lifestyles might be emerging from the underground, but the general psychological mechanic by which people judge those who act differently from themselves is as strong as ever. As for abstinence until m... |

There's a lot of good reasons to dislike police, but antagonising them in person is generally a bad idea... and a bit mean, too. The institution might have a lot of things wrong with it, but individual cops aren't all the kind of power-hungry, self-important bullies that you expect to find in that u... |

I've done LSD, 2C-B, Ketamin and MDA, as psychedelics go, I think. Ketamin I didn't care for much and MDA I didn't do enough of to form a strong opinion about, but LSD and 2C-B have always been lots of fun. Doing drugs has been a big help in building some emotional intelligence as an austistic perso... |

Doesn't everything you do or like deserve a fair share of your definition?
Most definitions are oversimplifications, of course. You can't go wrong declining to define yourself or your sexuality. But if you're going to, I can think of less pleasant things to represent me. |
