It is frustrating that doctors who believe in natural remedies do not apply the same standards to their studies as allopathic medicine. If they did we would have a realistic picture of which remedies work for which ailments. I do believe that there are plenty of things in nature that will aid the bo...

I have a good feeling that he will start to really flourish in this new school. You must be so relieved as a Mom to know that your son will finally be und...

Hi-Non fridge Mom here. When Chris was a baby I thought that there was something wrong with me. It seemed that there was not this instant love connection that everyone describes when they have a baby. Yes, I did love him but I did not feel like he knew me or needed me in particular. Steve and I used...

Good news everyone! Today we had our appointment to review the findings of the developmental ped and psych from our regional center. This has been a long since last spring process. We went in prepared with a list of things that Chris does that they may not have known about or seen since they only me...

UGH! I would be totally pissed off too. It's great when you all that you can do and have to rely on others to fulfill their end of things only to find that they are not nearly as motivated as you are. If it means anything... We kept calling and calling and finally were given an appointment to be ass...

Well I cannot say 90% or more that Steve or I have AS but it seems that quite a few of the traits we have had or still have. Maybe it is just that we had enough traits that when we combined DNA that we got Chris. Chris was diagnosed Aspergers through the school district almost 2 years ago, also ADHD...

As with all parenting, some days are better than others. Chris can be very loving and profound "you are the best Mom I have ever had in this life or any others". Or he can be emotional as in yesterday he cried for me after I left to go to the gym for an hour which in turn caused his 2 year old broth...

Chris has an awesome imagination and I know that he has embellished some things in his writings but so far he has either been fairly true to life or very outrageous (like writing that Qui-Gon Jinn is expected to come and take him to jedi training).

We have the same issues with Chris (8 yrs). It almost seems to me like he has mood swings. One minute he is a wonderful but eccentric kid telling you how much he loves you. Then he will be playing with his sibs and get violently angry. I have tried to explain to him that they are younger than him an...

Chris has taken to reading before sleep which means he gets less sleep than he used too and is sometimes harder to get up in the morning. It seems like he needs that extra time to relax. We will probably need to set a timer for reading time during the school year.

Chris is in a mainstream classroom and is pulled out for resource or special ed services at different times. He also has speech (which works on social skills with him as well) and adaptive PE. I love the school that he is at. Even though it is public there are not a ton of kids there so it is very m...

Chris has been walking around on cloud nine since this incident. It is wonderful to see the boost to his self esteem. Thank you all for reading the post and for your comments. :D My friend and I actually were watching all of the kids as there is a large glass window from one area to the next. I can ...

There is nothing at all wrong with a guy enjoying needle work. Traditionally men have been tailors. So what is the difference? Plus, it would be great for hand/eye coordination. I love cross stitch (hard to do with small ones around), crochet and scrapbooking. So far Chris is not crafty. Katherine :)

hehehe... Yea... well you know expecting eager is way too much to ask. I am thinking more like how much complaining is done on his part and how much reminding or nagging needs to be done on yours. This I think really is standard kid stuff. Probably most school aged kids would rather do their own thi...

She has a 3 yr old boy and 21 month old twins. The play area is seperate from the eating area. There is a door that leads from the play area t...
