I had 3 burnouts over 12 years while working as a science teacher. Eventually retrained as a gardener and now work training adults with learning disabilities in gardening. Definitely an improvement and hoping they'll be no more burn outs.

I had breast cancer this year. I found a lump and was then referred to a specialist centre. I had two mammograms one of which takes a more detailed look at the breast tissue. It hurt a bit but not too bad. Then I had an ultrasound and biopsy. Again the biopsy isn't too painful. I ended up having a l...

I've suffered from all this in the past especially when working as a teacher-mainly from other teachers. Best thing I ever did was to retrain into horticulture and start my own business as a gardener. Plants and gardeners are kind and you can lose yourself in a garden, in fact gardening saved me fro...

Tell me I was too good to lose, not allow me to resign, tell me how good I was at my job despite the fact I was really struggling. That's what my old boss said to me but she didn't mean a word of it. Behind my back she was undermining me right left and centre, tried to make out my sexuality (I'm bis...

I think autistic people are far more likely to be targets of these groups than recruits. Eugenics has always been part of far right ideology are autistics would be on the eugenics hit list.

Unfortunately this doesn't surprise me. Here in the U.K. we seem to have a horror of people that don't fit 'normal' stereotypes especially if they're women. I'm not saying everyone is bad I have some fabulous people in my life who are totally accepting but I used to work as a teacher and I've never ...

I've used them for years but for me they always leak so I have to wear pads as well. I have heavy periods though. I have recently started using reusable pads that you wash after wearing to cut down on waste and that works well. Helps if you buy red coloured pads though as you can never fully get the...

I think you are lucky to get a diagnosis as an adult at all in the U.K. In Hull they will not assess you unless you have other mental health issues which to be fair I had (depression and anxiety) but was too autistic to realise it was that bad. My GP told me he'd never known an adult diagnosed in Hu...

Can totally relate to this. Recently after five dates with a new partner they announced we were going to spend every weekend together without asking me if I'd actually like that. My anxiety went through the roof as although I enjoyed meeting once a week that was more than enough for me. When I tried...
