Hi ... There don't seem to be very many people like me around. Old farts who discover they are autistic very late in life. I couldn't find a success stories section on Wrong Planet. It seems a good idea to occasionally remind ourselves that what we have is a gift. Anyway, I'd like to share my succes...

There are many times when stress causes me to ruin something that is valuable to me.

It is as though something inside doesn't want me to be stressed and "stops" the activity surrounding it.

I think that something is my "older" inherited mind deciding to "take over."

Denial is a beast. I'm a writer and have been studying the cognitive scientists. One of them, Michael Austin, wrote a book titled, Useful Fictions. In it, he describes the fictions we create as a strategy for restoring harmony within. Although he was writing for an NT audience, I am now aware of mys...

There have been times when I wish my spouse would train me, then I remember that I don't like to be manipulated ... so that wouldn't work. I'm in my sixties and I worry that I won't be able to take care of my wife (for the past 25+ years). It's only in the last year that it occurred to me that I mig...

If you'd like to start a comic strip or illustrate a graphic novel, let me know.
Maybe we could collaborate (you illustrate, I write.)

HOWDY! I launched a new joke panel today on my website: http://www.funnyflashfiction.com/blog/ Penny-a-Joke This in addition to the new cartoon I introduced a week ago, In the Dark . The cartoon deals with the lack of visual cues I deal with -- sometimes it's as though I see nothing. The Joke Panel ...

I'm not sure it's a good idea to petition for rights unless the stakes are high. Petetioning to change this or that classification or rule seems petty and mis-guided. Political action where massive concensus has been reached (and where the stakes are high) seems like a much better use of one's polit...

About ten years ago I slipped on an icy driveway at work and hit the back of my head. I could feel life slip away. I later learned that it was part of my memories that were being lost. Fortunately, it was only neural typical conditioning that I lost. Unfortunately, I could no longer learn. It happen...

Thanks. It's ironic that because I didn't know that I wasn't "supposed" to do some things, I was able to do them. I've never been able to read fiction, but learned how to write it by researching the cognitive scientists, Michael Austin (Useful Fictions) and David Hermann (Story Logic, Narratologies,...

Space travel is exciting, but if it's only so that we can kill another planet, what's the point?
