Wow, thank you for all the info. ImeldaJace! That was very helpful; especially the part about neurotransmitters. I will keep everything you said in mind, particularly when talking to my therapist. Much appreciated!

I have a lot of phobias and can't figure out how to handle most of them:

Strangers/Anthrophobia
Driving
People I love getting hurt/dying
Grocery Stores
Doctors
Getting Lost/Agoraphobia
ect.

Being phobic sucks.

Wow, thank you VERY much for all of that information. I feel a lot better just knowing more of the basics about the disorder, and the poem was actually very uplifting. :) I am attending therapy so that will probably be of some help; however I am rather hopeful that my doctor will also prescribe some...

I was just today diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, and to be honest I'm, well, freaking out about it. Does anyone know what an anxiety disorder entails? Are there medicines I can take? What sort of therapy works best? I'm being told that I've had this my entire life- is that really possible? Any i...

Those are all excellent examples of anime; might I humbly recommend Trigun for your viewing pleasure as well?

Then he told me he had worked with many autistic children and told me I act just like them and he really recommended me getting checked out for it because I most likely have it. I agree with the one therapist (the non-flop one), you definitely have many traits of Asperger's. Of course there's a dif...

Very shy 25-year old girl here, looking just for people to greet and chat with! (Please let me know if this post does not fo...

Just another one of those words that will (hopefully) be eradicated over time. I admit, I've even let it slip once or twice, just because I've heard it so many times myself (usually from jokes). Language changes often, though, so I think there's a good chance that people will stop using it eventuall...

Thanks to everyone- I look forward to . I "passed" for sixty-five years. I can tell you, you'll be amazed at how many little things there are that add up to great big alienation, from "cute baby stories" about yourself, to the little things you do and the way that you do them that you thought were "...

Someone actually once told me that Aspies coud be the next stage in human evolution. I think he meant that we might be a more evolved form due to our focusing abilities and sensitivity-? Feel free to look at my page. I'm more active on Deviant Art now though. There's a link to my gallery for my "web...

I can't think of any actual friends of the human variety. Acquantiaces maybe but all my actual friends aren't human. My bearded dragon, Pippin is my best friend. TLKFAA was my gateway too. I'm KalahariMeerkat over there. I rarely post anything on there because no one notices me anymore and I've mos...

You could never actually be "noob" to AS.. but either way, welcome to the wrongplanet, where you're actually from. XD Lol, probably true, but I was "misinformed," shall we say, about what Asperger's was. Thanks for the welcome; this seems like a very open forum. :) We receive you well: glad to have...
