I would try to keep track of what happens before these things ghappen to see if you can find a pattern. Sometimes it is something that happens right before, sometimes it is a cumulative effect of stressors, sometimes it might be something that happens earlier in the day he cannot control feelings o... |

Thanks for your responses... about being bored and inadequate...we try to give him a lot of moral support and he indeed is a good learner and hence he has natural good support from teachers as well. Yes, you should ask him why he does those things. However, sometimes it is difficult for ASD kids to understand and express their emotions. He may just tell you he doesn't know. Hi Friends... My son, is 8 years old and goes to 2nd grade, in a normal school, this is in India, so it is not so convenient to find a special school. However, he has been going to this school for last 3 years and has been doing pretty well, grades are not of much concern, but he is getting A and B ... |

Hi J,
There does not seem to be any physical problem with him..he just does not want to eat..he will eat his favorite foods like chips, pasta, noodles etc..fast
but when i ask him to eat rice(we r asians)and drink milk he will need reminders.

Hi my son V, is 6 years old.He does not eat/drimk on his own..to make him eat/drink i have to be after him saying eat/drink..i give him foood in in bowl with spoon , i need to continuously tell him to eat/drink..otherwise he will spill galss of milk..I tried many ways, like telling him to be indepen... |

Friends... My boy is now 6 years and we have known his challenges for last 4 years... he has been slowly but steadly picking up stuff like numbers and alphabets and words, etc...however I want your help in understanding few things. He is aware of everything and I am sure understands most of the stuf... |

My Son V is very smart kid.He loves to be with kids..but he just immitates them, that makes the fellow person very irritating..I told V many times not to do that way, interact with them..he says ok, and then does the same..

I have an opportunity to relocate to Singapore, can anybody let me know -
1. How is the Special School environment in Singapore (for a 5 year old)
2. If anybody have really gone through a similar relocation, how does Singapore compare with USA in this regard?

Hi - have you seen similar thing? My boy, when he sleeps (not otherwise) sweats so much that, pillow gets wet (mostly head) but sometimes, even his shirt gets wet...he being sensitive to wet head/ hair/ body...will get irritated and needs drying with towel so much that he feels better. It almost see... |

How do you know if your child is high functioning, I know that my son has most of the words and uses them when he wants to (not necessarily when he has to, as the world expects), similarly he knows numbers alphabets, directions, he is potty trained and even... |

Thanks Orr, for your feedback... As you pointed out, yes my primary goal is to get my son to be happy and happy by himself...because if he either depends on me or some other kid, they may try to bully him and that is not good. So my question to you is - 1. Happiness - can he experience that feeling?... |
