And all this time I thought it was just me..... Thanks for starting this discussion. I don't understand and can't explain why I don't like answering or talking on the phone. I won't answer the phone unless it's my wife or my mother. I have caller ID so we can see who is calling. And it is all but im... |

Since I joined, I feel like all I do is lurk. I read as much as I can but I feel reluctant to comment on posts, especially posts that are back past page 3 and/or have dozens of replies already. I have found a lot of great material to read and helpful links. That thing about the internet that makes i... |

I have conversations in my head, usually involving people that I know. It's sort of like practice for actual conversations that I expect to have or may be coming up. Or if I have a problem to solve I can talk it over with the people in my head and consider the (imagined) responses I get to be in lin... |

I was reading an article about Bram Cohen and it attributed his problem solving skills and ability to write computer programs to Asperger's Syndrome. The article briefly described some of the attributes of AS, and it sounded just like me. So I started researching AS. Finally my life made sense. All ... |

I don't like the telephone either. It has become a real hindrance for me to not be able to answer the phone or make phone calls. Getting caller ID helped as I can now see who is calling and decide whether to take the call or not. I still have extreme trouble calling anyone tho. I have even started h... |

I need at least 8 hours, preferably 10 hours each night.
Normally I sleep about 12 hours per night.
Depends mostly on how much stimuli I got that day
and how well I sleep on a particular night.

Your Aspie score: 150 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 55 of 200
You are very likely an Aspie

I also use a lot of humor. Someone made a comment to me a few days ago: "You're certifiable!" "Nope, I'm certified. And I got the papers to prove it." I also sleep a lot in my down time. I rarely leave the house anymore, I prefer to interact with the outside world thru my computer. Pooh Bear |
