...after toe-walking. Do people just forget that adults wear shoes? . 8O I didn't know that that had anything to do with ASD or autism. Holy poopers. I've been doing that since I was really little. I still do, and most people tell me It's bad for my ankles/feet. But I have huge feet (for a girl any... |

questor: I already do the knee-bouncing, thing but more often it's the rocking (but not at the same time :) ) And when I get upset/uncomfortable I do the tearing paper/tissues. I suppose knee-bouncing & confetti-making is less odd than sighing & rocking, so I'll try to find something else to... |

I always wanted to know, is sighing EXCESSIVELY and rocking from side to side something generally affiliated with the autism spectrum? I do both, a lot, at school especially. My mum gets so mad at me when I rock from side to side, she says "that's what crazy people do." I don't quite believe her. I ... |

My son is 17 yrs old. I have never had him diagnosed but everything that he is - has been since he was small - points to AS. It's ok with me, I don't think it matters at all so that's why I didn't bother with a dx. He is an incredibly talented writer and also loves art, but hopeless in maths/logic.... |

I did that when I was little too! But, it was only to one guy I was in primary and I would chase the poor kid around. I did stop of course. Your story and chart sound like a great idea. Good luck. |

I have two theories, I'm not saying either one is more correct than the other, they can be/are both equally right. This reminds me of when I was little, my grandmother died when I was seven, I don't really feel like I actually knew her now, and don't remember too much about her. I feel I've always b... |

I almost went through the same situation as your son, but I was given a choice as to what happened to me (I was 12 when diagnosed with a learning disability that affects my math processing). I was given something called 'Adaptations' where I had chosen what areas I want help in and what can be done(... |

He hasn't been tested for pragmatic speech deficit. His parents only do what they are required to do. They barely accept the NVLD, they don't want any other Dx. As far as the email he sent. He emailed the principle and basically said "A bomb will go off in your place or work. I can't tell you where... |

The abuse didn't end at the school just last year I was beaten by Hospital staff, who just didn't want to help out, so they refused to care for my needs, then beat me, then blamed me for it and lied to the police so they got me arrested, I end up being "guilty" for something I didn't do, and now I'... |

That's what my doctor thought...he didn't think I had Asperger's Syndrome but my psychiatrist said I may have it. They're supposed to do proper testing, it's not just a matter of looking at you and asking one or two questions....and I think the only person qualified to give a diagnosis is a psychol... |
