Having read your story I would be very surprised if you're not an aspie. You say you've been reading about AS, could you tell us what doubts you have about having AS? |

RocketSurgeon how many friends do you have? How many of those friends would take you to a hospital if you broke your leg? How many of those who take you to the hospital would be willing to stay there until you either find someone to give you a ride home or get sent home by the doctor? |

I also never had the impression that I somehow see more details than neurotypical people. I often get fascinated and outright hypnotized by ordinary things, and loud noises bother me. But I don't think that I see more details. I actually notice less details about other people, because I try not to ... |

I'm an aspie and I never have meltdowns. Meltdowns aren't even listed in any criteria for the diagnosis. |

You have asperger's, you need to get over it. You can even know more about asperger's than your psychiatrist, that still doesn't miraculously cure you of asperger's, there is no cure. One aspect of asperger's is learning to cope with our social disability. The more coping skills you attain the harde... |

They originally were planning on having severity levels ranging from low to high, but now they changed it to a three level severity scale with the lowest level requiring professional support. Level 1 would require the person to have such a strong fixation to their rituals and routines that they woul... |

Axiom, I edited my first a few times to expand and contract certain points, because the first post was important. The rest are first and last drafts for the most part. It is precisely because writing comes so easily to me on a computer that I choose to write my own work with pencil and paper. It's ... |

The way you worded it I thought the list would be 95% murderers but it seems that I only managed to find one person in that list accused of murder, one murderer, and one person who failed in his suicide bomb attempt which resulted in no deaths. Hmm, 1 out of 62 is about 1.6%, I don't think there's ... |

Is this a sign of autism? I have difficulty maintaining friendships. Actually it’s not difficulty but more like apathy on my part. I like my friends, but don’t feel the need to see them or talk to them. Occasionally one of them would invite me out, and I’d go and have a good time. But I don’t feel ... |

Definitely does sound like you have asperger's. To be even more certain without getting an official diagnosis watch movies about asperger's such as Mozart And The Whale (my highest recommendation), Adam (starring Rose Byrne), and try to find an asperger's or autistic spectrum support group in your a... |

Well isn't this all doom and gloom. I'd like to point out that you failed to mention how intelligent you are. I have rather severe AS, so it's safe to say I'm on par with you. I can't have even basic social interaction and everything else that comes with that. Anyway, I make up for my absolute soci... |

I hope you do not mind an inquisition of my own. What age were you diagnosed? That comorbid avoidant personality disorder must be intractable to shoulder as well as AS. How do you feel on having the latter? What is your chief preoccupation, just as mine is poetry? I have not considered poetry clubs... |

People with asperger's simply feel that others don't understand them. Aspies feel different from others. As for my question it seems you have answered it, it seems that your condition has impaired and limited your life. I feel that you very likely have asperger's. People with asperger's often have o... |
