I did try to add the "no" option to the poll, but my computer was acting up that day and it didnt' take for some reason. I don't want to totally steer him away from the obsession, just keep him from talking about it in front of his brothers. I find it funny that a couple of you mentioned CSI and for...

My 8 year old nephew has AS. His two older half-brothers that he used to see on the weekends just lost their mother to cancer, and they have moved in with him. For whatever reason, my nephew has taken an interest in graveyards and cemetaries. He builds them, draws them, and talks about them quite of...

I think now that your daughter is starting to ask questions about her issues, it would be best not to wait any longer to tell her the diagnosis. I think that by giving her a reason why she has difficulties with certain behaviors will help her feel a little more self-confident. If she does not know w...

I left the options wide open for the under 30 bracket due to the study in the paper wording that the risk increases as the fathers start getting up in age. I figured anything under 30 wouldn't be considered "upper age limits of fatherhood". Sorry about that.

Sorry, I think i posted the same poll the same time you did. I'm not sure how to remove it though. Our local paper had an article in which a scientist overseas studied the father's age and the rate of autism. In this study, the higher the father's age, the higher the autism risk. This was a scientif...

There was an article in our local paper about a study in which the older the child's father is, the higher the chance of a child having autism. I am just curious, what age was your father when you were born?

I have read that children with Asperger's can have a strong fantasy life. What exactly does this entail? Would a fantasy world of a completely new family (parents, siblings, etc.) and spending time in solituded absorbed in this fantasy life? Would this be something an Aspie might do, or would this b...
