Kortie is right. Your diagnosis is just fine here, should be in Canada too. Best wishes. Hi blazingstar, good to hear from you too.
Yes you're right, I believe. I'm clear to forge on ahead. |

I think you’re okay, Claradoon. Your diagnosis never “expired.” It’s just been “taken over” by the DSM V diagnosis of ASD, Level One. This is explicitly stated in the link I posted. It’s right below the “severity” section. Thanks again, so very much, Kortie! This is exactly what I was hoping to fin... |

The DSM 5 diagnostic manual is a guideline I'm not sure what a clinician is. My doc is a family doc, what we used to call GP. She won't approach the DSM casually. I knew that HFA isn't official. Conversationally, it could take some of the heat off people who would say, "You can't have Asperger... |

I was under the impression that an Aspergers diagnosis, DSM IV, automatically transferred to an Autism Spectrum Disorder Level One, Without Intellectual Disability and Speech Delay, DSM 5. The code number is 299. Here is the relevant link https://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/autism/hcp-dsm.html Hi, KK, this ... |

neuropsychologist. Hello Bea Arthur! Good to see you again. I'm afraid I've been away so long I don't know how to answer without using Quote  Actually, it was discussing this with my primary doctor (by that you mean my family doctor?) that started this trouble. She's old faithful in my care, ... |

Some years ago, when we still used DSM-IV, I got a written Dx of Asperger's from a reputable mental hospital. I think I was about 50yo. That Dx cleared the way for me to get help with Asperger's. DSM-5 moved Asperger's into Autistic Spectrum Disorder. I remember seeing that everywhere "Asperger... |

If your mother's partner is sexually attracted to you, then she will hate you forever (barring therapy etc.) I don't if it's a conscious thing but I've seen it before. It's tragic but she can't see her own insane jealousy. Maybe therapy might help you live with such a situation? |

In my life, I found that, as an outcast, disliked, shunned individual, I had to make up lies to get what I needed or wanted. Otherwise, the answer would always be no. Now I'm facing a sibling who calls me a liar and i'm having trouble explaining why otherwise is impossible. Does anybody else experie... |

This is the week between my birthday and Mom's. Mom passed years ago but it doesn't heal. Do you know the poem Surprised By Joy? Surprised by Joy By William Wordsworth Surprised by joy—impatient as the Wind I turned to share the transport—Oh! with whom But Thee, long buried in the silent Tomb, That ... |

Where I live, neither drivers nor pedestrians obey the rules (or lights). The physically fit manage to jaywalk, the rest wait until they can cross in crowds. |

I cannot tolerate heat at all. The first thing I bought when I was 19 was an air conditioner - what a relief! And still a relief, every time I turn it on. |

There are three choices. (A) Nothing (ie a "blender:), (B)Dentures. (B) Implants The first is the cheapest, the second is expensive, the third is even MORE expensive. Ya get what you pay for, and ya pay for what ya get. Implants are a permanent solution (no pulling out dentures to clean them),... |
