Thank you both, you're right and I will continue trying to help her and getting help where needed if needed, I won't push a label on her unless I am certain of Aspergers but until then I will just watch and wait and be her Mum, but I will push for a label if it fits so that she can get support and h...

perhaps having Aspergers you are more likely to follow the rules, if he follows your rule to the point where kids laugh at him then he most definitely will follow a no violence rule, if you feel you know him enough not to response by copying the game or become distressed then I would just let him p...

I'm AS married to an NT. We have 2 children who have some traits on the spectrum but I don't think they would be diagnosed as AS. They are wonderful. I truly can't imagine my life without them. I don't think a diagnosis will determine what type of parent you will be. There will be different challen...

I think JoJo's Mum was very over the top about this and very negative and extreme. Punishing suicidal thoughts with imprisonment with the crisis team?! That's not supportive or the point of the crisis team. And to say that an Autistic child is using anger and self harm threats against you is actuall...

This is great, but I have some nitpicks, specifically about yourself self-harm section. You wrote it's really important to remember that a teen on the spectrum probably cuts him/herself for different reasons than a NT teen. So cutting (for aspies) is usually not attention-seeking or a sign of a ser...

for me we played all sorts of games, some of my best times were playing these games that I'd get hooked on and it wasnt because of violence but something that i cant put my finger on, not that it would matter as NT's probably wouldnt get it but maybe something like how the game felt sensory wise, wh...

My son did the same. I solved the problem applying this procedure Guidelines for Toilet Training Program Adapted from the Foxx and Azrin Program 1. When beginning the potty training program, be sure that the child is wearing regular underpants. Diapers or pull-ups may only be worn each night while ...

My little girl is 2 years 8 months now, we've always had little feelings about Aspergers and I recognise behaviours in her that I have being an Aspie myself. I'm a trained nursery nurse and I know all about positive parenting and developing a childs self esteem, my daughter is not 'difficult' or 'ob...

I still crave things like raw rice, when I was pregnant I craved sponges (the type you wash with) omg just thinking of it now makes me want to chew on one, I used to scrub the floors with scourers and stuff like that. I think it probably gets better with age and awareness but for now just keep an ey...

you should try making gloop, it's just cornflour and water until it's a slightly thick texture but when you hold it, it turns into liquid and falls through your fingers, but you can pick it up and roll it in a ball and then it 'melts', it's really cool and keeps kids and adults busy for ages. Or if ...
