I have seen one of those crabs IRL before. Freaked the crap out of me, that's for sure! I wouldn't like to be anywhere near this: http://www.fugly.com/media/IMAGES/Random/the_biggest_jellyfish_ever_seen.jpg Damn, that is awesome - It looks like a flying polyp from the cthuhlu mythos!

Hells yeah, I used to play Avalon Hill titles (mostly ww2 stuff - Anzio, Rise and Decline of the Third Reich, Afrika Korps, etc) for years and years, from the early 80s right up til the late 90s. But I don't really know anyone who plays that sort of stuff anymore. Theres some pretty good WWII stuff...

I'm really shocked to see no mention of John Steakley's Armor , I just finished it half an hour ago and it was one of the best books I've read in a while. I highly recommend it, truly sad that Steakly died before he could finish the sequel  I found it too similar to Starship troopers which I a...

Didnt see any threads on these, maybe I missed them. I am a little tired. I am curious if anyone here is interested in tabletop wargames. Personally I am hugely interested in these to the point I am trying to make my own and have been sculpting miniatures for the past few years. This was partially b...

Allied Vision's "Confession of dementia" I am utterly obsessed with it. Have been for over ten years. It's perfect heavy electronic feel, cinematic atmosphere and inhuman vocals take me into this nightmarish gothic futuristic world dominated by machines. Massive influence on me. Godflesh's "Like Rat...

I find it hard to obsess over bands, but these would be the ones that are exceptions and seem to make me obsessi...

I've only read 2001 from your top 5. I would recommend reading Isaac Asimovs Foundation series. Very intelligent stuff. If you like 2001 then you should like Asimov. Foundation series is one of the best "sci-fi mytholodies" ever IMO. I agree it is very indepth and intelligent, leaves a lot to think...

I don't think theres anything particularly "bad" about modern games, but it's just...they don't seem to "grab" my interest in the way old-school stuff does. I think it's because old-school graphics are more... I don't know, ambiguious. Like it leaves something to the imagination and lets you come up...

Well, as you know Uprising - I've got heavily into making games of late. I would say before I found my programmer - my games were pretty awful though, it seems my programmer makes up for all my weaknesses! At the moment we are working on a sequel to Apogee's "Dark Ages" (the game used an early versi...

I enjoy making music as it helps ease my generalised anxiety disorder and relaxes me. It is quite important to me in that regard. I don't particularly like posting it much, but I guess ill try and overcome my shyness here and post a few links, I would note I too am afraid of critisicm, not just nega...

I like for example the Dune novels, or Orwells 1984, or Isaac Asimov (But unfortunately I have read almost nothing from him). I think 2001 was also good. I really need to read the Dune books, I do like "darker" science-fantasy like that (the 40k universe was quite appealing before the Matt ward era...
