I think I am. I think people just tend to learn how to hide things better. Like, I force myself to make more eye contact, etc. |

Wasn't sure which forum to put this in but I figured this was the closest match. So In one of my engineering classes we're doing a mock interview, where we will be graded on our communication skills, eye contact, and other things important in a job interview.... not exactly an aspie's strong suit. A... |

I agree, you need to find an outlet. Definitely don't take his actions personally. |

If i could change one thing I would have had my parents tell me that i had AS, and be a little more understanding of my deficiencies than just telling me to change. I don't mean i wish that they had treated me special, but a little more understanding and a lot less denial would have been nice. |

The first time I listened to a recording of myself talking, as a kid, I was shocked and mortified because I had no idea I had such a deep southern accent. In my head, my voice doesn't sound that way. I have learned to drop the accent when I talk, but I still can't believe I really sound so southern... |

I've noticed that when i see myself in a mirror or pictures, that I look and act different than my mental image of myself. It's like I'm looking at a stranger.
Does anyone else feel this way, and is it an aspie thing? |

Hi I'm an aspie suffering with depression, although you would never guess because the only expressions I ever make are smiling and laughing. I really want to go to a therapist to get a diagnosis and some help, but I can't make myself do it. Partly because the thought of going to a doctor on my own t... |

I wish I could make acquaintances that way, but it never really happened. Have you tried going to an electronic music concert? In the experiences I've had everyone is always really friendly and tend to do most of the socializing for you. For example, I get endless amounts of high fives. Lol. When I... |

Yea i've been rejected at another concert, it isnt NEAR as embarrassing so I suppose thats another plus. I was just having a hard time making up my mind over whether it was normal to be asking for numbers and such or if thats kinda odd because of the 'having a good time' atmosphere. does that make a... |

I personally think it provides a stress relieving escape at night, as long as I'm alone. Being around people tends to exacerbate my social anxieties.
If it works for you, then it works. Just don't become dependent on it. |

I love going to concerts, its a little escape for me. I recently went to a crystal method concert (^.^) and was having a great time, and this girl in front of me kept looking back at me, so I started getting the idea that maybe she wanted me to dance with her. So I gradually worked my way into it an... |
