Hello Lyrute, I have read about good results when children are given a gluten-free diet. It's a complicated thing to do but you could try it. It takes a lot of thinking and preparation. (I lost weight when I tried it- so that was a nice bonus!) I read Temple Grandin's book "Thinking in Pictures". S...

I was talking about Piracetam, because it has a lot of good feedback about helping children to improve their speach and motor abilities. This medicine will not change their social behavi...

Thank you Claudia - I appreciate your support and I am so happy I found this community. My mom still thinks I am imagining things, but even when my son was 1 year old, I knew something is different about him. I love him so much and I will do anything, everything is needed. Still I know that you will...

My son is much younger, but he has the same problem, plus he likes my hands too, one of his stimms is that he like to clap his hands into mine in some sort of rythm and he can do that with no end. He can communicate while doing that and then I feel, he listen and understand more. I am still failing ...

The very most important thing you must always remember is that things will get better. If there's no dx yet, I assume no treatment/intervention yet, correct? Once you navigate all your options and get some therapies going, you will be happy and so will your baby. Thanks for that, because I am think...

So, are you only going through the school, or have you asked your GP to refer you for an assessment? A specialist may also offer therapy in combination with the school. A lot of speech therapy is like directed play; they get in there and help the kids use language for what they want, instead of jus...

Lyrute, what country/part of the country do you live in? It sounds to me like your child could benefit from speech therapy, which is offered in most places for kids your child's age. I am from UK. My son had speech therapy, but it was more like play dates rather then constructive activities to help...

One thing that came to my mind as I read your post was a suggestion to try teaching him some simple sign language. I can't speak from experience on this one but after watching many other kids, I really wish I had done this with mine. If he is having a tough time verbalizing, he might have an easier...
