I've been on the chat for over a year now and I grew to realize that new op's should be installed, the current situation made many people run away to new channels. Not so cool. what do you mean by that... from my perspective things have been much smoother sailing than normal in the past few months,...

worked in the deli/smallgoods section of a supermarket. Common questions included asking why something that was priced at say $10/kg and the packet contained say 1.5kg had a price greater than $10, and asking me to get the 'bigger' products from the front of the window (they are all the same size, s...

24, guessed between dwarfish and elvish, and between estonian and latvian. spoiler that klingon was obvious once you looked at what each letter translated to in the diagram otherwise it'd also be a guess between klingon and the other one. the remaining european languages were mainly educated guesses...

It does say there are three ways to connect on the page, but all I see are 1 and 3, not 2. I think 2 was removed, but the rest of the page wasn't updated to reflect that. option 2 was removed at least 2 years ago because it was broken. option 1 should be fine in any browser. if it doesnt work and y...

I'm starting mine in two weeks :D Where I live (australia) there is an optional 4th year of undergrad called honours where you do 50% coursework and 50% research, that research semester was awesome and I can't wait for 4 more years of it! (australian phds are also rather short, they don't have cour...

I'm not bothering with it. On and off for 2 years I played another MMO from frogster* called Runes of Magic. The customer service was horrible, it was only the addictiveness of the game that kept me there. *How Frogster works is they buy games from developers, then run the servers/customer support s...

For example where I live there are two trashy 'current affair' shows at 6:30pm on weeknights, these shows in their once or twice a year story including a family with an autistic person, this will be a five year old, completely undisciplined child running around screaming 24/7. The uneducated masses ...

I used to work part time in a supermarket while I was an undergrad student. For a couple of years there was another dxed aspie there. To date this is the only other autistic person I have met in RL that I know of. I found that it was incredibly easy to get along small talk-wise, but other then that,...

I have subtitles on for PC games but not on the tv: -here at least the tv subtitles end up covering a decent chunk of the screen with a solid black background, and the text is gigantic. In games the subtitle text is a reasonable size and doesn't block out what is occuring behind it. Its like size 36...

There's a program called CCleaner (crap cleaner), it does what the name suggests, including an option to disable programs running at start up that you don't really need (similar to msconfig described by Fogman)

The study needs more respondants. For example they say that 24 people reported family history of ASDs (this is not many), then break it down to 16/527 technical and 4/394 non technical (humanities and social science combined) => more likely in technical. However if you compare the ratio of technical...
