A customer said she has "a million" books scattered around her apartment. I asked her to compare the number of books she has to the number of books in my bookstore as a ratio or fraction so that I could get a better mental image of this supposed mini-library. She shrugged, giggled a little, took her...

I get migraines... but only when I haven't been eating enough, which is usually a result of my anxiety, which is usually due to my social troubles, which I'm coming to attribute to the potential that I have AS. So there's my connection! But I just filled out a questionnaire for an AS research study ...

Ha, thanks - that's my natural state: criss-crossed, open-mouthed and completely distracted. Yes, it is Edie Sedgwick. I just cut off all of my hair again; every time I do, I get her jagged pixie. I became briefly, but intensely, obsessed with her when I hit a rough patch in my early teens. She's th...

Two of my cousins are classic AS - very early signs - but they live in rural upstate NY with their parents, who are in complete and utter denial, and will probably go undiagnosed for the rest of their childhoods. A lightbulb seemed to go off in my mother's head when I began the diagnostic assessment...

Definitely non-sexual bond.

If taking a single pill (once) would alleviate all of your social / communication troubles, would you take it?

I've done it; I did it about a year ago, and I'm promising to never do that to myself again. I read an interesting post on WP about the immediate obsession over a person due to a connection between that person and something / someone from your past. It definitely hit home. Whenever I feel someone be...

I think I cannot really love. Intimacy is too much for me. I always chose guys I would "love" of which I knew subconsciously it never would work out, so in the end I could say, well I tried, hehe. This. The limerence is always enough for me - I doubt I'd know what to do if the feelings are ever rec...

I, too, lost a friend. He was an athletic, opinionated, really gregarious NT - just about everything I'm not. I don't know what I was thinking. Suffice to say, our friendship didn't work out. He stormed off and away from me one day. When he said, "life is short, and I'm not sure I want to waste time...

I don't think you did anything wrong - you were honest and respectful. As a girl who also has the tendency to hibernate and shut off in the event of nonreciprocal attraction, I think your friend could have handled the situation with more care. The fact that she didn't is why you should forget about ...
