If you are lost in the woods, its only logical to go towards a river. You can't go for long without water. That aside, watching water whirl, bubble, bend, engulf, etc, is relaxing to me. I grew up on an island, connected to mainland with a two bridges. I have been in a boat 6 hours a day, 45 days p... |

A small update about me and my obsession, namely World of Warcraft. I deleted 11x chars at lvl85 or higher. I deleted all gear on all my chars, deleted them, gave away all items of value, gave away all my gold, and cancelled my subscription. If I divide all the hours I spent ingame over 8 hour days ... |

I was (un)fortunate enough to get 20-30 promotional t-shirts of one kind a year ago, and because of a tight economic situation I have been wearing the same type of t-shirt more or less 97% of the time over the last year. However, I do enjoy black t-shirts, and these are mainly black, so its all good... |

Create ..destruct ..creative ..destructive ..uncreative = destructive?
I would say they are not destructive, but in general it could be said people are destructive and/or creative and therefore also people with aspergers. |

may i ask..how you went about getting evaluated? Did you bring it up to the doctor? Or did they(doctor or family) mention about you getting evaluated? Of course you may. It started with my wife repeatedly asking me to take a personality test, Myer-briggs. I ended up with "INTJ", I checked out an IN... |

Funny thing, I just realized my Aspergers obsession for 6 months is well documented on these forums in the form of 800 posts. If thats not talking about it, I don't know what is. However, whatever I do or say now won't change their mind, I think. For them I will forever be the guy who tried too hard... |

I scheduled a meeting with them to elaborate on these things, so I will see how that turns out in a few days. Well, I got some answers. At first, they said those interests didnt count because they were too popular, too many have those interests. Too many people play wow excessivly. My interests was... |

On addiction vs. aspie obsession... Have you almost always had an obsession with something, even before WoW was around? Ye, during my childhood, I was VERY into Donald Duck from age ~6 to ~14, infact I still dig up, from memory, information from those stories that I can use in daily life. Fun facts... |

Hope that helps! It does :) thanks Did you tell them the extreme amount of time you spend with World Of Warcraft? I have had a tendancy to ask people what they said, even when I did hear it. I remember doing it as a child, and I even remember peope catching me in doing so. They could say something, I would ask them to repeat, and they would refuse and say they think I heard them, and then when I understand it t... |

I ask because during my assessment for Aspergers, they wrote in the conclusion that I had no obsession with any special interest/topic. And it seems that was a big part of their decision to not diagnose me with Aspergers. How do you define an obsession? I feel that spending 8-14 hours a day with one... |

I don't dare to assume that I truly understand what you have experienced, but the doctor who diagnosed me with PDD NOS told me that if humanity were one long band, then normality ("neurotypicality") is a section located somewhere in the middle of the band. According to him, I have fallen slightly o... |
