I have the same problem, picking up an interest, delving in, finally get the hang of it and start getting good, only to get bored and move on to another at some point later. I have not yet figured out how to stay focused on one, or spent enough time making myself I guess.

I have my own way to pronounce certain words - for instance prevalent - I say it like "pre-vail-ent". Also I will simply make up words that seem, to me, to very accurately describe what I believe it is. I don't even know I am making up the word.
