In a lot of European countries, 'National Churches', such as the Church of England, Church of Norway, etc. are Royal institutions, so they are taxpayer funded. Can you explain what you mean? The govenrnment has agreed to fund the repair of some Church of England buildings. This is because they are ... |

Don't ask me for an actual source, but from what I read in the papers these days obesity is a major cause of disease and expense to the NHS. Why come down on smokers? I don't smoke and am underweight. |

Quote: However, contrary to the example you cite, with regards to 'infinity' there is a proof of its existence.
Was this a typo and you meant no proof. |

Here is some thing I'd like to spend time studying, at least if I were younger. It is how circumstances and existing culture affect the mindset and beliefs. For example, we can see how Aristotle had ideas which can no way be acceptable today, yet it would have been difficult for him to have thought ... |

Your premise fails in the first three words.

If we imagine a network, a force field, say something like gravity then you know it depends on how big the fork is and the distance. I did hear about somebody who measured the energy fields from prayer and meditation. I suppose this could be put down to the power of an ordinary mind. Whatever, if yo... |

I can ask questions like how did things in the universe just fall into place. So much goes far beyond coincidence. There is also the question of energy. What causes the strings of String Theory to continue twanging? This is all inspirational and wonderful, however my faith is not based around any of... |

I just dropped a fork in my kitchen. How did it affect you? That is avoiding the point of the qusetion. I not even sure it was meant to talk about the butterfly flapping its wings can cause a hurricane in another part of the world. During my younger years I felt this same aloneness, even in a crowd... |

It's good to have a laugh, not to take life too seriously all the time. That's how I see this discussion. So, Ok numbers are an idea, they don't have substance, not as a noun. However, when they become an adjective things become quite different. They are attached to an object. Red is real and so is ... |

For some people it is like a gift. Others of us need to train ourselves. I tend to be as much to ADDS and don't have that cold logic. It is learning to let go of the logical mind and allowing the unconscious to surface. I am not a Buddhist but it is a bit like Zen. An artist will understand getting ... |

It has been my own experience that when the conscious mind is in tune with the unconscious we work at maximum, or least better efficiency. Just think of all the writers who use the stream of consciousness technique. I don't know how that can work when logic has to be boss first and foremost. Needles... |
