I'm NT (if there exists such a thing, however I don't have any autistic disorder). I believe that there are quite a lot of foolish people who use the word "autist" to scoff at someone, because they see it as a disability. I think that the person who called you a bad person basically believes you dem... |

Why don't you just speak your mind? I know that being too straightforward is a problem between aspie's and NT's sometimes. But straightforwardness is sometimes necessary. NT's will be straight forward too when they have to. When someone says mean things about others behind their backs and wants you ... |

You may fall into more than one category. While you may have AS, there are more important categories that you could also fall into... Categories which may require medication. I would suggest you print what you wrote in this thread and show it to your psychologist. See what he/she makes of it. Thank... |

ADHD-PI is suspected in me by my psychologist but I have a couple of stims too (pacing, having conversations out loud when I'm alone, shaking hands and jumping around when I have strong emotions, a jumping leg), which is the strongest indication for me that I might have Asperger's. I'm already diagn... |

I think I'm an aspie. One of the reasons I think this, is because my interests are very limited. Actually, they're so limited that at this moment I don't have any (special) interests. And throughout my life, I think I just had a few. But because of this, I question my activities a lot. I don't know ... |

I'm not diagnosed with Asperger's, but I suspect I'm a mild aspie. And I shake my leg very often. For the same reasons as you. |

It's awful to hear that you're having such a hard time in high school. When people see there is a "inferior person" amongh them (because of idiotic views and standards), the insecure people will attack and harass the "weakling". I guess they do it to climb up the social ladder or hide their insecuri... |

I'm wondering whether it's possible to have Asperger's syndrome without having sensory overloads / meltdowns / shutdowns. I'm asking this because I think I might have Asperger's, but I'm doubtful about the (common?) problems mentioned in the topic title. Among the symptoms I see in myself, is stimmi... |

You seem to have some autistic traits, so doesn't that make you autistic in some form or another? Autism isn't a black and white disorder, it affects people in drastically different ways and to different degrees. I'm kind of similar to you in some ways- I understand and use sarcasm a fair amount, a... |

Hello guys. First of all, sorry if I'm offending anybody by using stereotype or incorrect facts about people with aspergers or autism in this topic. Feel free to correct me. All my life I've shown strange behaviour, which I now, in my 20's, have recognised as stimming. I don't believe my behaviour f... |
