I like the smell of my dog and... have you ever smelled your knees? ...like, even after a shower, they have their own scent. Mine smell like an almond/cashew oil blend... just thought I'd throw in something kinda 'weird' in this conversation since no one else is really going there. Also, I like pepp... |

Well, if you think about it, does anything really ever exist? I mean, there are so many things in this universe, so how can they all be real? Oh, wait, you said he's a psychiatrist, not a philosopher... |

"trapped within themselves" rang true for me 6 months ago... I've come to realize that I'm a very borderline case, and conditions that caused a loss of expressive abilities pushed me over that line into more Aspergerian thoughts and behaviors. Now that I have a medication that works and al... |

It has been some time since I've posted here because I wasn't sure what to say. Somehow, my TMJ disorder and trigeminal neuralgia that made making facial expressions nearly impossible, to the point I could only make rudimentary ones, had an extensive effect on my ability to read others' emotions and... |

So, I found something to treat my (mainly) facial pain disorder successfully, and after three years I can finally make facial expressions again. I've been trying out smiling (something I've rarely been able to do physiologically while ill) by smiling at strangers and watching their reactions. It see... |

I'm just going to ignore the fact that goldfish is suggesting my focus hasn't been on improving my "health" and that I'm still sick after 3 years because I'm clearly lazy and unmotivated and didn't really want to fulfill all those big dreams I had anyway *sarcasm* My husband has descended ... |

I have tried to get counseling, but the one just spent every session trying to find someone more qualified to address my particular problems, and the other told me she couldn't work with me if I wasn't on an antidepressant -- except that I have problems with getting a lot of side effects from antide... |

Thanks for at least making me feel less alone with this... I guess I will stay with my mom for a while if she'll let me. Then, hopefully I'll win the upcoming disability hearing so I can have my back pay and pay off loans since I won't be able to afford the payments on my own. The only thing I can u... |

Our housemate was being disrespectful to me again. So, I was upset, and my husband asked what was wrong, and I told him I was upset because our housemate keeps disrespecting me in the same way on a regular basis. Whenever I tell the dogs "no" about stuff they aren't supposed to be doing, l... |

I'm not humiliated by the idea that the information could leave the room -- just saying it all at once makes me feel weird about myself since I tried to cover this weirdness up (not too successfully, but at least so it didn't all happen at the same time to the same people) for such a long time befor... |

I guess I will have to give up for now. There doesn't seem to be anyone in my state or nearby states with open practices who diagnose and/or treat adults on the autism spectrum. I'll just have to keep coming on here and hoping to learn new things about myself through self treatment and research. I w... |

I gave her a list of many of the reasons (it wasn't totally comprehensive -- only what I could fit on one page) I highly suspect I have Asperger's... and she looked at the list and then said, "But you're talking to me and responding to my questions," as if someone with Asperger's can't eve... |

I've thought about going non-verbal, but I've realized it's not really a choice I can make because of a past experience. I used to hardly ever talk -- sometimes, I'd go so long without talking that the skin on my lips would stick together. Then, the only person I ever did talk to took it personally ... |

I thought restlessness and a bit of a head high were common side effects of opioids. I stopped taking them for that reason and because they didn't do much for my pain. They also increasingly were making me itchy each time I would take one (which was rarely) and may have triggered an otherwise inexpl... |

I just recently discovered that there is such a thing as Clinical Endocannabinoid Deficiency (CECD) while researching into fibromyalgia. It's actually on the NIH website -- a government site -- yet treatment for it, using medicinal cannabis, is illegal in the U.S. Anyway, tonight I thought about doi... |
