Well, things have gotten better. The person I thought too low on the totem pole to do anything obviously got things done! I think that those of us with mental illness should come out of the closet to as many people as possible. We need to let people around us know that we are functioning around them, that we are good parents, good neighbors, good co-workers and we're not going to murder them. It's time!

I got on this site because my 9 year old son has been diagnosed with AS. (But I was looking at this thread because I'm bipolar.) But after doing some reading and ESPECIALLY after reading your post, I'm thinking that maybe I've been somewhat AS all MY life too! I could relate to so many of those thin...

Our son (who is now 9) was tested last year at Nationwide Children's Hospital here in Columbus, Ohio and finally confirmed to have AS. Okay good, confirmation, let's move on. Please come in and see our psychologist for recommendations, they said. I thought you were the psychologist, I said. Silly me...
