| I am almost 33 and I was diagnosed when I was 27. Before that, I knew I didn't fit in. For the most part, I was ok with that. I try not to meltdown in front of others. | I'm not sure about the average age of people here, but I am just guessing that a lot of members are are quite young? (Under 30? rough guess) There must be a lot of people in the general population who are on the spectrum but who haven't heard of it, and are going through life muddled, confused, iso... |

| Hello. In these forums it's not unusual to find many who are self-diagnosed. The primary reason for this is that there are a limited number of professionals who truly understand Autism and Asperger's... so even if you HAVE the ability to see medical professionals, quite often those within the Autist... |
