I am almost 33 and I was diagnosed when I was 27. Before that, I knew I didn't fit in. For the most part, I was ok with that. I try not to meltdown in front of others. I try not to snap at people to leave me alone. I'm happier alone, but I still try to make myself reach out to people that may want ...

I'm not sure about the average age of people here, but I am just guessing that a lot of members are are quite young? (Under 30? rough guess) There must be a lot of people in the general population who are on the spectrum but who haven't heard of it, and are going through life muddled, confused, iso...

Oh yes. And that is something I find myself craving more and more as I grow older. On the other hand, if I have been alone long enough, I begin to crave some interaction.

I don't like sports. More accurately, I hate them. I remember trying to develop an interest for them years ago, but eventually I realized what I was doing was stupid. I'm with you. I detest most sports: especially team sports. I do, however, enjoy watching horses... so I like equestrian events such...

Hello. In these forums it's not unusual to find many who are self-diagnosed. The primary reason for this is that there are a limited number of professionals who truly understand Autism and Asperger's... so even if you HAVE the ability to see medical professionals, quite often those within the Autist...

Laugh, hale_bopp? You're pretty! Dave_19_Essex: Search for "Dana Carvey" (esp. "Turtle Man") on Wikipedia and you will find out about my first impression when I first saw your mug (on gsilver's myspace comments wall, incidentall). Perhaps you should look into a career in comedy. Or stand up, at lea...

Nope, it's a Canadian holiday where we, after emerging from our Christmas-food-induced comas, gather 'round in the family room, open presents, then don boxing gloves and beat the holy hell out of each other.

Yikes! I don't think I would like that very much.

I was wondering does anyone else here get people who add you on myspace just to advertise and promote their music in the bulletin? It's quite annoying. It doesn't bother me, because I like to find out about new music. That has really become one of the main purposes of myspace - for bands to find an...

But how do the people live there? I mean, what is the economy like? Is everything else expensive and it's just the gas that's cheap?

I have about 200 friends, and I don't use one of those stupid friend generators. Those are lame. I don't use the friendbot for my personal (sistersunshine) myspace, because that's my music site and I would prefer that as many as possible of those people be ones who are genuinely interested in my mu...

When we had REAL slavery, I wonder how many slaves (male AND female) ended their own lifes rather than suffer that indignity.

Not only that, but the unemployment rates are calculated based upon those who receive unemployment benefits. There are probably five times that many people unemployed who DO NOT receive those benefits. I've never once qualified for them, and I've never been employed for long. I don't think 100% empl...
