I don't mind the spiders in my house, they keep it free of flies and suchlike.. I'm not sure about keeping one for a pet though.

It's a huge misconception that AS people can't feel empathy, they feel the same as anyone else.. some people have trouble expressing empathy, which is more of a communication skills problem.. I can't say whether you have AS or not but your psychiatrist doesn't seem to have all his facts.. Also, lots...

I wouldn't judge anyone by their posts because I'd assume they're having a bad day or something.. I wouldn't really notice unless they're being really abusive or racist or something.

I often see coloured blobs and patterns behind my eyes, I think it's pretty normal, not just an aspie thing.

I usually wear a bit of makeup, I prefer a natural look though it is fun to dress up sometimes.

I first heard about it in psychology class.. I didn't think it could be me cause it sounded like a serious mental illness.. it wasn't until a couple of years ago when I came across an internet article by someone with aspergers that it clicked into place.

I don't know if I would tell anybody- I think that once people know about it they would start treating me differently, I would rather they just take me as I am without being labelled as suffering from a disorder.. it doesn't help that most people don't know anything about Asperger's and autism, mayb...

Thanks for the links Arashi.. I am thinking of trying the gluten/milk free diet myself, no idea if it works for adults, as most of the research seems to be with children.. but it can't do any harm I suppose.. I am glad your son is making good progress, good luck to you both!
