Female, PDD-NOS, and I've had migraines since I was a child. For the last few months though, they have only been visual migraines, no headache. The flashing blue lighting lasts for about an hour and then I just get very tired.

This has been mentioned before but this Times article was just published and I thought you all should see it. http://healthland.time.com/2010/12/01/how-a-new-version-of-an-old-drug-may-someday-help-treat-autism-and-addiction-too/ "One night in 2006, Kathy Roberts rushed her autistic daughter, Jenny,...

My son was "diagnosed" as having global developmental delays at age 14 months, but even TEACCH doesn't diagnose autism until 3 years old. So even though he was much more obviously autistic to me when he was young, (classic autism, didn't speak or point or anything) they still say they can't and won'...

Considering preschool costs over $10,000 a year it will be a welcome relief to spend less than that for Kindergarten. Most private schools cost a lot more, so cost was not even a consideration for me. I just want to know if the school is good or not.

I'm thinking about this school for my son for Kindergarten next year. He has the diagnosis autism, but he's very high functioning and I'm assuming it will be PDD-NOS as he gets older. He loves math, science and arts. I'm very concerned about sending him to a public school as he's the typical nerd ty...

Jewelcrafting is one of the most profitable crafts in my opinion. You can also probably make about 100g or so an hour by fishing. Fish feasts sell well (mats are fished up in Wintergrasp) and dragonfin angelfish in the walrus-people ghost town in Dragonblight sell really well too, either as uncooked...

Autism is related to the amygdala, which is in the lower part of your brain, mostly in the center. I doubt you'd be able to damage it directly without damaging other parts of your brain quite severely. Also the difference in autistics is not a damaged amygdala, but a larger one. The amydgala is resp...

Have you checked out the diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorders? Bad behavior isn't a diagnostic criteria. If that's the only symptom you're seeing, I wouldn't be suspecting AS at all.

Is it a tic or a fasciculations? Fasciculations are sometimes called tics, but they are different. Fasciculations are usually just one small muscle having a spasm, like an eyelid twitching, or a pulsing of a leg muscle. These can be cured over time by taking a magnesium supplement, as it's usually a...

I was under the impression that nearly all children born on the spectrum gradually moved up the spectrum as they got older. TEACCH has the base diagnosis of "autism" as a child is 3 years old, then later will re-diagnose at Asperger's or PDD-NOS depending upon functioning level. I would very much do...

The idea that autism spectrum disorders would be something you can diagnose in people you've never met, just on text description, is absurd. Even speculating like this is what makes a lot of NTs thing that autism spectrum disorders are just something people make up so they can be special. Please jus...

I would be if I didn't also have to cook for a husband and son that like meat. I don't like the smell of most meats, and the texture of chicken is especially gross to me. However I'm too lazy or uninspired to cook meals for just myself.

Post natal abortion?

That was a joke.

No, I don't plan on getting the book. 9 times out of 10 avoidance of the meltdown trigger works for me, and that 1 time that's unavoidable will be avoided in the future.

You didn't hit your head recently, did you? That's sometimes a sign of concussion from a head injury.
