I'm already dealing with the loss of my mother (she passed away last Wednesday); the prospect of losing him, too, is sending me into my own tailspin. This, in turn, frustrates him because he sees me as being over-emotional and needy. Well, duh... it should serve to figure that I might actually NEED...

Well I guess it's a dead give away that the best thing should be a new job, but I suspect it's not very easy to find a way to propose this. As far as your actions towards him goes, just be around him without making any real fuzz about his situation, he might be questioning his worth and a good way ...

Argh... the drinking!! ! I had the day off yesterday, so we went to the movies. He'd been on a serious bender the night before (and the night before, and the night before, etc.) and had a TERRIBLE case of the shakes!! We talked about it a bit [he brought it up, actually], but he tried to blow it of...

It's cliche, I know, but honesty really is the best policy. I'm the reverse of you - I'm an NT in a relationship with an undiagnosed Aspie. I'm not sure my man even realizes what the root of his behavioral/social issues is, but he knows that in most settings, he's a square peg in a round hole and V...

Figured this might be the best place to post this. My boyfriend's NT and it's likely I've got AS. I think I might be hurting my boyfriend a little. Lately I've been really obsessed with AS and the fact that I probably have it. I've kind of made AS my special interest. That means I think about it al...

My Aspie and I worked together for the better part of six years (until he lost his job week before last). We didn't even like each other the first year or so, yet I knew the day I met him he was going to change my world. Slowly, over years two through four, we went from casual acquaintances to frien...

Do NOT give up!! She's still talking to you - that's a good sign!! My Aspie has said some horrific things to me/about me over the 18 months we've been together so far. There have been several times I thought there was no way I could continue in the relationship, but I have learned to recognize when ...

... but someone almost almost seems to want to. Amazing. She is very beautiful, very kind, and she somewhat thinks the the way I do (we understand each other pretty well, at least) but does not have Asperger's or any other ASD. (She does, however, have depression, which is treated well as far as I ...

All of those things don't make him superior to you. I know for myself (I'm and NT female) none of those things matter. For me it's always been a chemistry thing. Most of the guys I've dated have been people no one would expect I'd be with. I went out with a guy who wasn't what most folks would call...

My goodness. My heart goes out to you. Your story touched me on so many levels. I even prayed for you with sincerity and I hope you'll get the strength to get through your situation. There are many facets to your situation, but though this might seems as just a minor part of it, one thing that jump...

As far as it goes for me, if I want to talk I talk, otherwise it's quite enough for the other person to just be there, for someone how has been alone most of the time, just having someone there is priceless. Hope it works out for him, and that this blows over quickly (not that likley ^^), and whish...

Thank you for the kind responses and welcomes!! Okay, AScomposer13413, I'll try to be as specific as I can. Right now, one of the big stumbling blocks for us is the loss of his job. I know he's beating himself up inside about it (he lost the job - after 13 years there! - because people were tired o...

I take it you're a big Venture Bros. fan. I love that show!

Thank you, and indeed! My Aspie is my Monarch. He introduced me to the show and, several months later, even bought us the Monarch & Mrs bobbleheads!

Well first of all you have my empathy in this awful stage of life at the moment. An aspie with childhood abuse must be the worst feeling in the world. I can't even imagine how much he is going through. Sure enough childhood abuse is bad but being aspie is very bad since it can stick in your mind fo...
