Final update. As of yesterday, we are officially dating. She is in an open relationship with her boyfriend. He knows about me, and is completely fine with her dating me. She initiated it...and yes, we did get physical.

Not quite what I expected, but I'm open to it, and happy with the outcome :D

So a bit of an update....we have continued to hang out over the last few weeks. The last two sundays, she's invited me over to her house to have dinner, smoke, and hangout. There seems to be a pattern where she prefers to hang out with me on a one-to-one basis, without her boyfriend present. Each ti...

In my book, anybody that is in a relationship, is off limits. Sure, you can keep them as a option, if they ever do break up with their current partner, but I wouldn't do anything to break them up. That's the general idea. Make myself visible, and available should things go south. I have no plans wh...

Part of me thinks it may be limerence....but then it gets confusing...how is limerence any different from the obsession an aspie gets? there seem to be a ton of parallels.

No! Don't walk away now! No guarantees, but to me this looks like it could be the start of a fairy tale romance. Consider how the girl's behavior changed over the course of the evening. I think she saw something in the OP she's never seen before. This is what I'm hoping to happen. Considering we've...

Hello friends, About 5 years ago, at the age of 24, I was diagnosed with AS. I've done a ton of thinking, and evaluating myself in that time since, but I never did do therapy, but there's one thing that always vexed me. It seems that a few of the girls I've been interested in became a "special ...

i knew i was different, i just didn't know why. ^^^This^^^ My family raised me telling me people were all different, so I am normal in that regards. Or so they said. I never really understood why I was so singled out, not until my 40's. Its hard for me to see that self reflection that other people ...

Gary Numan

I'm not sure if he is an aspie, but Steve Wozniak (cofounder of Apple) seems like he might have some of the traits, based on what I read in his autobiography.

I've been living on my own since I was 21. I tried the roommates thing, but my roommate complained that I was always holed up in my room, and almost never left (I guess he wanted me to hang out with him), plus he always had people over, so I ended up getting my own place. It was very difficult at fi...

I was diagnosed at the age of 24, but I had suspected for a number of years. It was like someone had turned on a light in an otherwise pitch black room; it finally all made sense.

I smoked for more than 10 years, started in 2001 when I was a Freshman in High School at the age of 14. Progressively worked up the amount of cigarettes I'd smoke in a day, although I never did get past 3/4 of a pack a day. I got tired of smelling like stale smoke, so earlier this year, I saw a doct...
