I had no idea how little people understood about ASD's until we had a lecture on ASD's very recently! People were so shocked when our lecturer explained that autism was a spectrum, and that not all autistics were like Raymond Babbitt from Rainman & Simon Lynch in Mercury rising, but many can fu... |

Is it not amazing that the media forgets to mention that illustrious individuals such as Bill Gates, Charles Darwin, Jane Austin, Einstein, Alfred Hitchcock, Newton, Thomas Jefferson, Mozart, Thomas Edison & Henry Ford were all Aspies. They can't base their presentation on something which one c... |

Autism, OCD & ADHD, are conditions that are familiar to the general public, and that are established and recognised within the psyche of the population. Not always. You are being pedantic and missing the point of the post. There is a level of familiarity amongst the general population such that... |

Autism, OCD & ADHD, are conditions that are familiar to the general public, and that are established and recognised within the psyche of the population. Aspergers Syndrome however is still a relatively unknown condition in the public eye., despite increasing efforts to increase awareness within... |

I was going to call this topic "Happily Ever After" but due in part to my obsession with precision "A Happy Beginning" seemed to be a more appropriate alternative. In the relationships I have been involved in previously (both prior to my diagnosis) I had a habit of becoming incredibly stressed in t... |

I must be somewhat of an anomaly. I have always appeared older than I actually am due to having an unnaturally deep voice (my vocal range extends down to a D2 with ease, B1 on a good day), facial hair (I used to have cracking sideburns) and being relatively tall (5' 10). Even now many people believ... |

As an aside, I see many people who are going to college for no reason other than to get a degree, any degree, as though it is some magical piece of paper that lets you accomplish all of your dreams. But many of them don't think through what that degree will actually allow them to do once they gradu... |

Although in saying this I am making a sweeping generalisation, the best looking girls and guys tend to be the most ignorant and arrogant. This is usually due to finding themselves at the top of the hierarchy in high school. This appears particularly prominent in girls who are 'early bloomers', who ... |

I believe I am correct in saying that Aspergers syndrome is also labelled "Higher Functioning Autism".
If this is so true, why not shorten it to HFA? |

I played it for about 6 weeks last year. Unfortunately it was a bit of a waste of time for myself to be honest. If you begin playing during the start of an age/conquest (whatever it is called) you are ok. But starting as a newbie a couple of weeks into it, you are screwed. You never reach the requi... |

The Brawny comes from a bastardisation of my last name which was my nickname when I was in early high school. Then during middle school I got into a punch up in a Rugby game a floored the opposite centre. As this happened the same week a the new Rocky film came out, Brawnybalboa was thrown around b... |

But all degrees are difficult, and the attitude that because you're doing a science based subject you're automatically doing something harder and more worth while than an art or humanities based subject just irritates me so much. There are an absurd amount of factors to even attempt to measure whet... |

I just developed a simple way of ordering my thoughts and planning my answers, particularly for essays and creative writing for English literature and English language. All I do is I take 5 minutes at the start of any timed examination (or if it is a home written essay, as much time as required) an... |
