Thanks for sharing that, BanjoGirl. I am somewhat older and have been through a very similar history. I work in IT which keeps social (meetings) activity to a minimum. I really tried hard over the years, including a fifteen year marriage, etc. I have been in solitary now since 1998. I have no family...

Thanks LabPet, I really appreciate your helpful reply and thorough info. I guess most people would call on their family doctor, but I'm Canadian and we have this"wonderful" Health Care System. It takes a long, long wait to replace a retired Doctor (my situation) and you never know who or what you ge...

How in Hell does one get a diagnosis for adult Autism/Aspergers in Toronto? Everyone I talk to, professionals and others, look at me sadly and mutter something like “that’s for kids”. The phychiatrists that interviewed me at Sunnybrooke Hospital crisis center agreed I had severe depression, but were...

Just to add a typical response; which happened to come from my ex wife (emphasis on ex). After years of “fixing me” via ther rape y and various meds she jubilantly pulled out a magazine article consisting of an entire third of a page on how to eradicate depression by denial. There are a lot of peopl...

Physiatrists seem to hate Aspergers (aka high functioning Autism); they tip the hat to its existence if they feel generous, or they outright deny you may have it without any relevant test whatsoever. I speak from experience. Tongue planted in cheek... Is now the time to push for a new "civil...

So I deposited myself in the Crisis Center in Emergency, desperate for relief from severe depression that had been devastating me for weeks (I've been on Celexa for years, and it seems to have lost its effectiveness. I guess most people would call on their family doctor, but I'm Canadian and we have...

Apologies in advance. :!:

Rebel Nowe-I'm happy on principle to see any change towards considering all people as on a spectrum that autism is just one end of.

Funny, it took 65 years to find the perfect fit for my symptons - Aspergers!
Of course, now they're scrubbing the word out of official exsistence, to no longer be a legitimate
syndrome. Great, where do I sign up to give thanks?

And they wonder where the anger comes from!
