I didn't care. At all. In fact since we had no money for a whole wedding our original plan was to elope on a cruise or on vacation or something. Told my mom and she got very upset. Then after YEARS of her telling me she would NEVER pay for a wedding (and apparently not realizing I was just fine with... |

So I was going to post suggestions on how to broaden his palate UNTIL I got to the end and saw that he is severely underweight. He is 60lbs at 4'8". In other words literal skin and bones. So clearly he isn't even really chowing down on the foods he doesn't hate which would make trying to introd... |

He isn't learning healthy habits like this. Do you expect him to maybe someday go to college or technical school? Hold a job? Can he be continuously on his DS and do those things? Or have a life at all really? The answer is no. Hes addicted to his electronics, essentially. HE's avoiding any and all ... |

Never. Not even once. They would have to do something pretty horrible before the thought even crossed my mind. However my Dad and his parents were estranged from the time I was 5 on till when they died. He always had these strange reasons. He has now basically disowned me for also very strange reaso... |

She didn't regress and become lower functioning. The bar was raised and expectations are much higher than when she was in school. Jobs are a whole different ball game. Also unless she is asked she should not disclose her disability until after the interview. If she discloses during the interview the... |

Ok here is how I see it. You basically forced them to suspend your child when all they really wanted to do was send him home at 11am to give him a chance to calm down because it's likely he wasn't going to do that at the school. Generally when they suspend, because it's the same protocol for everyo... |

Depends on the child. When my daughter (aspie) was YOUNG she required a lot of "Attention" because she was delayed and needed extra help with everything. Now that she is 9... you would hardly know we have a 9 year old living with us. She just wants to be left alone. Meanwhile my 6yo with A... |

If i shut his games he switches on TV But doesnt pick up other activity like art etc ... yes it requires follow through and participation on the part of the parent. We walk/run/bike with our daughter to the park. We make sure she does her homework. We give her tasks to do and make sure she does the... |

No offense, but it seems like this has been going on for quite awhile... why was he ever allowed this much screen time to begin with? My daughter was headed down a similar path but once we realized that she was getting addicted to her games AND that the reason was because WE were being lazy about it... |

My daughter is 8, diagnosed with autism and will be entering the 5th grade this fall. At the time of the following story she was 8 and in the 4th grade. Last fall there was a whooping cough outbreak at my daughter's school. She knew a few kids who caught it and was very worried about getting it. I ... |

My daughter (8, will be 9 in a few weeks) doesn't seem to want friends. She never asks to have a playdate. Ever. If we go to the park she may sometimes make a "single serving" friend. That's rare. And the other kid, more often than not, usually also has aspergers or HFA. She definately get... |

Things were "ok" as far as I can remember (doesn't mean they were ok, just means I couldn't tell if they weren't) until about 6th grade. Things got really bad until about senior year of school when I realized that I actually was some how different and it was why I didn't have friends. So I... |
