So, I've already re typed my first sentence several times!! I should really learn to 'type as I think' - I'm terrible for self censorship, I have a real problem with enjoying things as they happen. I have great memories of things I've done and anticipation for things I'm going to do but enjoying th... |

Thanks for your concern. Worst part is, he is really interested in engineering, which is pretty intensive. He would be better for business possibly, as he has the social skills for it. |

This past weekend was really hard for him. He was the opposite of me in hs, he partied a lot (he's obsessed with military history, but pretty normal otherwise). As a result however, his grades dropped really low his senior year. His admission to the university that I currently go to was revoked, and... |

Just to clarify, the genetic conditions listed in the blog post are definitely very rare, i.e., 1:10,000 or fewer. But it wouldn't be unusual for certain physical features, especially facial, to occur more frequently with "idiopathic" autism. A cause or causes are unlikely to solely affect the brai... |

Unfortunately, I can't agree with you fully. You yourself might just be fine. But if Autism is affecting your ability to do daily tasks and to live on your own, that person needs treatment. |

The existing subforums about autism politics and autism news are too broad in the topics that they cover. Since the debate thread has been moved to this thread, I will respond here. I disagree with the quoted OP that the "activism" and "news" are too broad. There are occasionally days where there a... |

Please read the my first two posts before replying to this thread. There is a debate thread for those opposed to the idea. 100 signatures needed! I believe that a special "Research and Treatments" subforum is needed on this forum. For the past 15 years, neurodiversity activists have been fighting h... |

There have been numerous studies suggesting some sort of physical link between ASDs and (insert physical characteristic), several of which look more like sampling bias. Not the studies I posted. The subjects were selected and analyzed using nonselective methods, if you take a look at the studies. T... |

People have been trying to correlate Autism with physical characteristics for decades. They have all been wrong. Evidence for your assertion? Look at this also: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postp5481971.html Singular studies, not vetted by peer review. Last year, it was the relative length of one's f... |
