Those of you who have pointed out that "redneck" refers to a sunburned neck are, I believe correct. The term comes from the the first hundred years or so of American colonial existence, where the South was a dumping ground for indentured servants and people from debtors' prison. Since Bill Watterson retired, I don't read the newspaper comics anymore, but I do like "Sinfest" by Tatsuya Ishida. It doesn't have circulation (probably due to all the swears), but it's cute/amusing sometimes, and pokes fun at religion. You can read it for free at Sinfest.net I also like Liberty Me... |

It's from Thomas Hardy's "Return of the Native." The Reddleman is this minor character who travels about marking sheep with red dye for identification purposes. Since he constantly deals with the dye, however, his face is permanently red and he cannot attract a wife. He pops in and out of the story,... |

Some of these posts about wether or not you should accept/reject Christianity come from one side of the fence or the other-Christians who want to convert you, or nons who want to keep their intellectual moral/freedom. Niether side's argument holds much water for me. I got "saved" because there is no... |

Heathen (Asatru). Pleased to meet you. Ditto on that. Asatru out here in Vinland. Pretty new to it-marking the change of the seasons with blots by myself in the woods, meditation, rune reading, leechcraft, mead-making. Odin had a fever in his blood that made him wander the Earth-sounds like my kind... |

Hello. New to forum and been recently (unoffically) diagnosed with AS. It's a relief to finally find an explanation for the various grotesqueries of my nature. I'm not currently looking for romance, because actively looking seems like a good way to insure it won't happen, and anyway, how can you sum... |
