Good luck, and *hugs* I know that feeling of despair (not of being stuck in an abusive relationship, but of feeling like I'm always going to be sub-par and might as well give up). I know it all too well. I'm losing in hand-to-hand combat with it right now. It sounds trite because it is trite, but k...

do you have a domestic violence shelter in your area? ours includes verbal abuse as reason to take someone in. I'm pretty sure the shelters here are threats and physical violence only. Also I would still be too close to him. I posted on my Facebook and some relatives have responded offering me help...

I still regret it and I probably always will. I'm not attractive enough to have the life I want. On top pf that I'm pregnant and stuck with an abusive man and no way out. He is only emotionally and verbally abusive. He isn't very faithful, not sure how far he goes but he is online chatting with wome...

For the VAST MAJORITY of men it is to secure reg free or cheap sex. "I paid for the date(s) and she didn't put out" and similar complaints are often made by men. This has been my observation and the observation of others and admission of many men. "Men give love to get sex women give sex to get love...

Human did not sleep alone for most of our existence. Maybe get a mammal pet and see if you feel better. This helped me for a good three years and still helps just not as much since I want a Human mate..

I rather feel nothing than to be in pain. I so wish I had NO feelings. If it were possible to shut off all emotions when it comes to humans, I would do that.

I think it's the way our culture teaches us that we need to be a certain way or other people find a way to cut you down. More examples of Catty people. How about women who boast about blocking you on FB and any other social media sites? That is crazy. Almost as if the blocker has a need to get thei...

If you think about it logically, ultimately nothing has an inherent point, purpose or meaning. Purpose and meaning only exist in our heads; they are abstract concepts imposed on objects by sentient beings. Therefore, the meaning of life is whatever you make it. Perfectly stated. @Joe90 My social an...

IF you see the socializing as a 'natural' function of a biological imperative that is often acted out with no conscious consideration...well, what you're looking at is about as meaningful as the monkey troop at the zoo. Perhaps our difficulty with fulfilling this social imperative actually leads to...

I learned to "read people" through trial and error, taking note of common responses to similar things, asking and studying (sitting in on a friend's class, online articles, videos and eventually taking my own psych/social science classes). I am not great at it; I doubt I ever will master it. When I ...

I know exactly the type of person you mean, and yes, it's horrible to have people like that in your life. I've had to be around catty women and girls throughout school (bullied by them) and then even on into adult years in the workplace and in circles of friends or acquaintances. I CANNOT STAND thi...

That is nice to know that it may be a possibility. I realized after I posted that it might come off as if I were some b***h that just wanted to dump on him even when he's burnt out. But really I just want him to have my positive thoughts, feelings, and reassurances in his head while he's not respon...
