You might be an Aspie if: c) You see distinguishable visual patterns in practically everything you look at. (OMG. I feel like I've come home here. I was sitting in a restaurant with a very patient friend. The table was aluminum with little swirl circles buffed into the surface. I had to find out wh... |

You know you're an Aspie if when you were little, you were so mad you didn't know how to read yet, that you took a geology book and made up dialog for EVERY page starting with the title page. And it took hours and hours and hours to do. :D ....and hours and hours. And I swear it all made sense. |

Norah, it's ok, really. I'm just learning about Asperger's, and I'm pretty sure the two coolest men I know are aspies. One is my nephew. And I mean cool in ways that have real meaning, not superficial social ways. So maybe you are the coolest woman around. Think about it. |

Have any of you studied the Enneagram? The Enneagram is used as an indicator of personality type and illustrates nine distinct personalities, showing how these types react when under stress and when flourishing. In at least one of the Enneagram books, type number five, the Observer, Thinker, Investi... |

Kim, Thinking In Pictures sounds interesting.
I hadn't heard of her before! A friend told me he saw her on TV, something about her work with cattle. I'm so intrigued. |

Ok, I'm NT but I grew up getting along with animals better than people, and it took me years to figure out how to interact with people to where I wouldn't get eaten alive. (I think I'm NT anyway.) I just started reading the book, "Animals In Translation" by Temple Grandin, an autistic woman who beca... |

Flagg, Freya, and Fernando... thanks for your input. I've known this man for two years, and we really seem to understand each other well. I'm not an aspie, but I've had similar experiences growing up, and I'm the type who looks up the history of the lightbulb when someone mentions something about ea... |

I want to describe the guy I'm with a bit, to see what you think, if you don't mind. He is very bright, but was a "problem" child. Refused to talk for a long time as a child, had that oppositional thing when given direction by adults. Was very satisfied with his own company and chose to remain a lon... |

Thanks for the great welcome! I appreciate it.
I'm looking forward to reading the forums. I have lots to do!
I used to live in Altadena, CA which has a Banana Museum. I think Bob the 1337 Yiffy Banana Llama Priest might like it. |

Hi everyone. I believe I am an NT, though I've had some issues similar to aspie ones growing up... having a hard time reading social interactions, having obsessive interests, being somewhat of a loner. I grew up, learning how to interact as an NT, so I don't think I really have any neurological diff... |
