Staggeringly so. I really thought I would get better at spotting it but I seem to just keep messing up. The thing is, I never realise it's happening again until I am in way too deep.

I'm in Gloucestershire and it took 14 months to be assessed, then a further month to get the result back.

No. I tend to use ear plugs, ear defenders or noise cancelling headphone....or a combination of those.

I have HMS. As a child I was just known for being very flexible and being able to do 'party tricks' like pulling my shoulder in and out of socket which as a child was just amusing. However, now it's just very annoying and rather painful. I see a physiotherapist who I was referred to a couple of year...

To begin with I was very intense and precocious. However, as I got older I became more and more withdrawn. I was anxious, shy and at times volatile and angry. Being diagnosed in my mid twenties was the best thing that has ever happened to me, it explained everything but I wish so so much that I coul...

Many types of clothes tags drive me insane....I hate them. I am pretty sensitive to clothes in general. I can only wear certain fabrics and am really fussy over styles and cuts. Nothing to do with fashion, it's purely a sensory things but it does make clothes shopping a nightmare. I would love to bu...

I have very large, physical meltdowns and I am very embarrassed by them. I lose all control once they start, I nearly always lose my voice to a degree afterwards because I yell and scream so much. I run myself into walls, I hit myself, I throw things including crockery and bins. Being in public isn'...

Yes, especially when I have meltdowns. My meltdowns are big and very physical, I'm lucky because I live in a small organisation that helps people with complex difficulties and many of us are on the spectrum and have mental health problems with our ASD so they are very experienced with managing meltd...

Joe90: That's interesting you say that. Can I ask which antidepressants you are on? I only ask since mine has certainly worsened in the last 5 years but I don't know if it's to do with the ones I am on or whether it's simply down to going in cars a lot less than I did when I lived at home.

Does anyone else suffer from significant motion sickness? For me it's largely due to the sensory difficulties that I have which are highly problematic. How do other people manage it? I try hard to be in the front passenger seat in a car because that helps. Trains are alright as long as I am sitting ...

I normally cry at some point during a meltdown...I often find it very hard to cry when depressed and anxious even though I often really do need to.
Sadness sometimes does as does frustration and anger.

I do have a therapist. The county I live in (in the UK) has no help for adults on the spectrum who do not have a learning disability, I also have complex mental health problems along side the AS and I have a severe and enduring eating disorder...so basically I am a mess of problems and was referred ...

Yes, I am. Embarrassingly so... my Dad isn't on the spectrum but would now be diagnosed as borderline dyspraxic we suspect, my sister (also not on the spectrum) was diagnosed at 4 as being dyslexic and was told that she was on the borderline of dyspraxia too so it's definitely in my family. My siste...

My sense of humour is pretty random, dead pan and fairly ridiculous at times. It tends to miss the mark a lot unless you know me or have a similar sense of humour.

The meltdowns have been getting far more frequent and far far worse. My meltdowns tend to be very physical and that's getting worse. I just feel myself getting more and more overwhelmed and I snap. Luckily I live in a 24hour supported home which I have an individual flat in that is designed for adul...
