Apparently I almost died when I had an asthma attack when I was three. Don't remember anything about it, though.

I was in Cyclone Larry . We had sealed the windows and such, and we had turned on all the air conditioners so that when the power fell out we would still be cool for a while, so almost all the noise from the outside was blocked out. It was so surreal, seeing the severity of the storm outside and yet...

My vote goes to Nobuo, with Yuzo second. Would have been nice to see a few Western composers on there, though, like Jesper Kyd ( Hitman series, Freedom Fighters ), Jeremy Soule ( Morrowind, Oblivion, Icewind Dale, Total Annihilation, Supreme Commander ), and Jon Hallur ( EVE Online ), just to even i...

I often get the shocky/zappy feeling, but not the feelings of motion. The zaps happen at random, and mainly occur when I quickly turn my head or move my eyes. The zap generally goes through my head and down my arms. I have taken anti-depressants, and they occurred more frequently when I was coming o...

I don't really see it as a disability. While I recognise that it causes problems for me, it also helps in some areas of my life.

In the age of sail most crewmen and lower-ranking officers (or whatever the equivalent term on civilian ships is) did sleep in hammocks, while the higher ranking ones generall...

Kindergarten: Can't remember much about it. Reception-Year 4: Generally enjoyed it. Got bullied a bit now and then, but nothing too severe. Year 5-Mid year 7: We moved from Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia, to a mid-sized town (around 13,000 people) 309KM NW called Pt. Augusta. Academic...

I don't remember any particularly bad ones, but generally I just got called things like weird, nerd, robot, humourless (just because I don't find the same things funny as the majority of the school), Dutch boy (due to my surname and odd accent), know-it-all, etc. Towards the end when I began missing...

I'm not affected by this hurricane, but I was still living in Cairns when Cyclone Larry, a category 5 (4 when it made landfall) cyclone, hit. Fortunately for me, Innisfail, a town 80km south of Cairns, received the brunt of it.

Video taken by my brother.

My favourite's the one where the electrician decides to use copper wire instead of string to fly a kite in his street. The wire hits a powerline, and the rest should be obvious.

I definitely prefer the cold (although ask me that a year ago, and I would have said warm). I generally dress for temperatures a few degrees warmer than most other people (eg, when everyone else is in sweaters and long pants, I'm in a t-shirt and shorts), and sometimes I'm still in a t-shirt in the ...
