Imo, dating someone more autistic than you if you are a female is a terrible idea. Women often have more emotional needs and someone who can't read you is not going to be able to fulfil those needs. You shouldn't date this guy because you're single and lonely (as someone here seems to suggest). Eve... |

I refuse to date aspie men. Every single one I've met we're more low functioning than me and completely blind to other people's feelings. I know a woman who's husband is an aspie and like all the women I know who are in a couple with a male aspie, she is a very unhappy person. When she cries, all he... |

Are you saying we're not aloud to talk about a possible cure? I'm sorry but you don't own this site, you can't impose censure on it's users. |

I think she was asking you if you were sure because she wanted to know if you really wanted to come or if you were just being nice by accepting. She probably didn't wanted you to come if you really didn't wan't to, and end up having a terrible time. I,don't think it was about pity or being judmental. |

This. I might be an unusal aspie as I don't have much period pains. Menses makes me feel really gross and uncomfortable, but it doesn't hurt that much. |

How someone self-identifies is what counts. I strongly disagree with this. If somebody identifies as Napoleon, it doesn't mean they're right. If simply identifying as the other sex makes you trans, then the strandards of care for transition wouldn't exist. Because sometimes people are wrong about w... |

I haven't experienced this but I've experienced a change in my orientation over the years, gravitating more and more away from women and more towards men. Some say it's impossible, but human sexuality is way more complex than most think. It's not just being "born this way". There is probably a lot o... |

I hate AS more than anything else in my life and really hope someone finds a cure soon. I'm currently trying the gluten free and caseine free diet. I've only been on it for a few days, so I can't tell if it's working and I don't think it's going to cure me, but hope it will lessen my autistics sympt... |

As far as people regretting transitioning, I get the feeling that idea comes from people who have no idea what the standard protocol's requirements are (called WPATH now, and "The Harry Benjamin Standard of Care" in the past). 1) A person is required to do at least 1-2 years of therapy. If they don... |

.I do like being a writer and sometimes musician. You could still be this things if you were NT. A lot of the so called "positive effects of Aspergers" often also exists in NTs. So I don't see what one could lose by being cured. I don't think the talents I have are because of my diagnosis, and even... |

There just seems to be a lot of animosity towards people and organizations that support a cure. I support Autism speaks and most people here seems to hate them with a passion |

It seems I'm the only person here who actually wants to be cured. I'm not proud of being alienated from the rest of humanity and not able to connect with others on a deeper level.
Does anyone know of an online forum for people who support the search for a cure? I don't think I'm welcome here... |

I think it's important to distinguish gender identity issues from actual transgenderism. Certain people transition with surgery, hormones, etc, only to realize at some point that they've made a terrible mistake and detransition. This people felt dysphoric about their genders at some point and that's... |

I don't really get it either, but I don't think it has anything to do with being an aspie because I know plenty of NTs who are not the least bit racist and also aspies who are really racist. |
