Yeah, I like all sorts, but I love my metal; (Motorhead, Metallica, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Slayer, Testament, etc.) It's a reliable experience, (unlike like more fickle genres like jazz or funk that can be irritating if not in the mood). Cranked right up! (..to 11 ;) while driving. I think its funny 'cus...

I can't help thinking that what Aspies are most likely to require is, not social gatherings, but advocacy, and perhaps some practical assistance. I say this having in the past felt somewhat overwhelmed at everything life was throwing at me, and sought help, only to find that it took as much energy t...

Welcome to the club! :D Yeah, mine started going at nineteen. I was into metal in the eighties and had grown my hair long. At some point I caught site of my bold spot in the mirror and got a bit of a shock, lol. In the barbers I pointed to a picture of sting and said "like that!". The barber laughed...

The problem is, these are also terms being presented to the public. Most people who hear of a "disorder" are going to attach innappropriate negative connotations to those with such a diagnosis.

"ASC" covers what "ASD" does without the presumption of how the condition effects the individual. Having a "condition" is factually descriptive, without being presumptuously negative, meanwhile not excluding the possibility that the condition can be debilitating. ASC "trumps" ASD, with logic. That's...

Spot on,Tarantell64! Yes, this is how it is, and this scenario sure is a facinating farce to read. Not so fun to be caught in the middle of. Generally, I find I know these social recipricacies, but still find it difficult to read everybodys proclaimations diffinitively. I feel myself getting impatie...

Awww. That seems a bit cynical to me. No, I do know of situations were people have been honest about "breaking up".
It does seem that some people don't know what to say though.

Oh, I see. Well, yes it is difficult to accept when a relationship isn't working as we'd wish, I know that feeling. I'm sorry, it is sad. Maybe just give each other a break, and who knows what the future holds.

While that may be desirable for some, I think many of us have had enough of trying to be something we are not. So, I for one, would rather promote tolerance for difference, by allowing it to be seen, rather than to disguise aspie ways. This may well mean sacrificing some job opportunities, but I don...

Hmmm, well it sounds like you've answered your own question. It seems that now you can forget all about her, as you don't like her or wish to be her friend. No problem, right? Can I ask how old you both are? The reason I ask is because it doesn't sound like there is any more going on here than peopl...

I suppose I am kind of "high functioning", just enough to not get the help I need, but not enough to succeed in life. This is about people at the very high end of the spectrum. A rather new field. http://www.asknz.net/uploads/2/9/3/7/2937986/invisible_at_the_end_of_the_spectrum.pdf Great article. Th...

Every year I say I don't want to do Xmas, and then somehow I find myself sucked into it. I used to like it as a kid, but as an adult it's horrid. Also, my father died on xmas day back in 2002. The thing that really rubs me up the wrong way is the expectation from everyone else that xmas was great; "...

The OP is clearly very frustrated and angry, I don't think it's fair to judge him on his ranting. We all have said things we don't mean when we are upset. Yes, the references to other people do objectify them but he is lashing out at everyone, he is in turmoil. There are aspects of his post that sho...
