I also find it an awesome way to stim!
The hum and heat are very relaxing.
Also a desktop computer makes the same sort of hum which is very pleasant to have on when sleeping.

I go to the opposite extreme. Give me a 300 page sci-fi novel that I get into and I can read it in around 6 hours or less. My reading speed still increases as the years go by ( albeit less than 1% a year ) which is really annoying as I need massive amounts of reading material around to keep me enter...

she has a really old computer Her system: AMD dual core Athlon II 64bit 2.2 ghz Asus A8NE motherboard Really old computer ?!?! That is almost a new computer! The computer I wrote this on has a 1.5ghz Athlon XP and a Biostar M7VIT Version 1.0 motherboard. Really old is a 386 SX 16mhz cpu.

I had the exact same problem ( same color issues ) and the cause was the cable from the d-sub output of the video card to the input of the LCD monitor had gone bad.
I replaced the cable and the problem was fixed.
