I have a 167 IQ and have always experienced the same: rushing thoughts, insomnia, etc. In fact, my current diagnosis is ADHD (plus OCD and Social Anxiety). What nikaTheJellyfish said about doing an intellectual activity succeeds in making me all the more restless, because once I leav leave the organ...

Is it the light or the buzzing sound? The light has never bothered me, but the sound by my head is torture. know LED bulbs don't make that sound, and last longer than compact fluorescent. I think The CF bulbs will probably start to go away once the price on LED lights goes down.

It makes me feel like I'm in danger and need to attack or flee from the other person. I also understand what others mean when they said that they feel like people can see the deepest part of their mind and their feelings, which is probably why I feel so threatened.

I've been biting my index fingers since I can remember. It can be both a nervous thing and a more angry stress/overstimulation thing where I end up biting harder. I have callouses on both fingers and drew blood once, but it's nothing compared to my brother, who has open wounds on the backs of his ha...

Yeah, it is so trivial, because all that ever happens is I say "fine, how are you?" they say they are doing well, I say "good!" and the conversation ends awkwardly.

When I turned 21, I didn't know what "my drink" would be, so I start researching the different types of spirits. Big mistake. Once I knew all the different types, I had to buy a bottle of each, and spent about a quarter of my paycheck on fancy booze that I wouldn't even drink much of because I didn'...

I would recommend cutting off contact with both your boyfriend and this Logan character and making friends who don't want to hurt you. I have been in a bad relationship where I was put down for lack of sex among other things. I remember feeling like I would never get anyone better and being desperat...

I voted for another method, so as to say that I use both, but while I was trying to think about the way I think, I was visualizing myself being in a park thinking, before I could verbalize it.So, I would say it's definitely predominantly visual. I know sometimes when I do math and I try to verbalize...

That sounds like Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, which I believe is the most common comorbid condition with autism. I know part of my OCD is that I personify objects and try to more or less treat them with respect, if that makes sense.

I understand your concern. It seems pretty natural to expect that you might become more relaxed about the more obvious autistic characteristics you might want to suppress in the general world. Maybe you can look at it as two different worlds, and remind yourself that when you leave your autistic fri...

I know this does not sound fun, but I take a quick cold shower before bed and sleep much better. There's something about lowering your core body temperature before getting into bed. It doesn't take long for your temperature to go back to normal under the covers. You go to sleep quickly and stay asl...

My father tells the story that, on the advice of a book, when my brother (now 21) was young and wouldn't talk, he confined him to a bathroom or closet (I can't recall) and didn't let him out until he asked verbally, to teach him that he needs to speak to get people to do things for him. It worked, b...

Wow! This sounds terrible. Wasn't the idea of a traditional blind date that even though you don't know the person's personality, nor have you seen them, you were set up by a mutual friend, who knew you well enough to make a reasonably good guess that you would get on well. This sounds like sheer, un...

I don't know about this "letter" business. I have a NT family member that wrote letters to his wife when they were broken up and the whole thing bothered me. I'm not sure why an adult would write a letter to another adult unless one of them is 80 or in another country. It seemed like something one ...
